Titles stay put on this week’s NXT 2.0; Mandy Rose has her sight set on the NXT Women’s Title

On an episode that highly featured the women of its growing division, NXT 2.0 had two women’s championship matches this week. Both championships stayed put as both Raquel Gonzalez as well as Io Shirai & Zoey Stark walked out the same way they walked in – with gold around their waists.

Prior to the championship matches, the show opened with a No Disqualification match. In only her second televised match, B-Fab took on Elektra Lopez in this no rules, anything goes, style atmosphere. The ladies took it to each other with tables, chairs, and kendo sticks but it was Lopez who pulled out the big win. After dropping B-Fab on the back of a steel chair, she planted the Hit Row member on the mat to get the three count.

In a digital exclusive, Lopez discusses the fight she brought to B-Fab and tells her that if she doesn’t want any more from her then she needs to keep her mouth shut.

The first championship match was for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships where the champions Io Shirai & Zoey Stark defended against the new and red hot Toxic Attraction. After a Northern Lights Suplex, Gigi Dolin thought that she had brought her group their first gold, but Stark kicked out. As Stark was then busy with Mandy Rose on the outside, Shirai delivered a palm strike to Jacy Jayne. A moonsault from Shirai on Jayne secure the victory and kept the gold with her and Stark.

This wouldn’t be the last we saw from Toxic Attraction during the night, they may not have won the tag titles, but Rose made it clear that her intentions are to become the NXT Women’s Champion. Earlier in the night, she walked by the champion Raquel Gonzalez to tell her that the belt looks good on her but it would look much better on Rose.

The main event was the NXT Women’s Championship match in which Gonzalez defended against Franky Monet. This match was originally scheduled for two weeks ago and was postponed. With the Robert Stone Brand at her side, Monet had the support in her corner including a sign stating “Future Champ” held by Jessi Kamea. Despite the confidence from Monet, she wasn’t able to capture the title her first shot out of the gate and Gonzlaez planted her with Chingona Bomb to get the three count.

There was no time for Gonzalez to celebrate her win as Toxic Attraction surrounded the ring. Gonzalez did a good job at first to ward off the 3-on-1 attack but it became too much. As Dolin & Jayne held back the champion, Rose delivered a running knee. Rose would grab the title belt and hold it up as the three stood tall over Gonzalez.

Other segments shown during this week’s show were the debut of Lash Legend’s ‘Lashing out with Lash Legend’ talk show as well as the honeymoon of InDex.

Legend first talked about the WWE Draft coming and gave everyone some insight into her past including being drafted for the WNBA. She then spilled the tea about Cora Jade kissing Trey Baxter in the locker room. Legend said she should be getting her a real man who looks like Ikemen Jiro.

Cora Jade will be in action next week and although an opponent wasn’t announced, she and Legend may end up in the ring at some point.

The InDex honeymoon had the happy couple enjoying their time at the beach while Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae kept tabs on them. It was quite clear that Lumis had enough protection.
