4. Bianca Belair and Naomi (c) vs. The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez) — Women’s Tag Team Championship — Raw (February 24, 2025)
As noted throughout this list, 2025 has been an absolutely stellar year for TV matches on Raw. And as we’ve also covered, it’s also been the best year for the often inconsistently booked Women’s Tag Team Championships. It’s only fitting then that 2025 gave us what is likely the best women’s tag team match in WWE history when champions Bianca Belair and Naomi met The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the titles in Raw’s main event. This contest felt big, with tensions surrounding the investigation into Jade’s attacker boiling over. Each woman came in fired up, and accordingly the crowd was extra HOT from beginning to end as all four delivered one of their strongest performances.
All of the women’s resiliency was on full display, with each team unloading a non-stop barrage of offense and the other refusing to stay down. Bianca and Naomi took early control, but it didn’t last long — the match became a flurry of back-and-forth momentum shifts and some of the most convincing near falls ever in a WWE ring. The drama never let up, with the action rising to a fever pitch as each team grew increasingly desperate. The series of false finishes made for an electric atmosphere that had the crowd nearly falling out of their seats. With the assistance of women’s division stalwart Dirty Dominik Mysterio, Liv and Raquel pulled off the upset, beginning their third run as Women’s Tag Team Champions.
This all-gas-no-brakes match ultimately had far more consequences for the women’s division than anyone appreciated at the time. It wasn’t just a turning point in the story of the Big 3; it was a statement and indication of how excellent the women’s tag division would become throughout the remainder of the year. In the months that followed, top women competed in exceptional tag team matches, establishing the Women’s Tag Team Championship as the most competitive set of titles in the division.
3. Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Bayley — Women’s Intercontinental Championship — Evolution
There was a lot on the line with Evolution this year. The booking heading into the event wasn’t the strongest, and the night desperately needed to start with a statement. Enter Becky, Bayley, and Lyra — two beloved veterans and one of the most promising young in-ring wrestlers the WWE women’s division has ever seen. Immediately, these three set the stage for a memorable event, with the crowd firmly behind each woman and this contest, raining cheers on them before the bell even rang. And something special was in the air indeed, as they delivered a wrestling classic at exactly the moment it mattered most.
Becky, Bayley, and Lyra’s stories have been intertwined all year, and their roads meeting at Evolution gave them the chance to create a career highlight together. Despite being the newbie, Lyra made sure she did not let the Horsewomen outshine her. She wrestled with the poise, confidence, and precision of a peer, not a prospect. These three brought the house down with non-stop technical wrestling excellence. The storytelling was rich without ever feeling overcomplicated, and the pacing balanced the triple threat stakes perfectly. They hit hard and moved smart. The match was extremely competitive, and each woman felt like a believable winner. In this triple threat — and all year long — these three blended technical craft with rugged physicality: stiff strikes, inventive submission and counter sequences, and big-match moments. But it was Big Time Becks who stole the win at Evolution with one of the most creative backslide pins we’ve ever seen.
This match set the tone for the best WWE PLE of the year in Evolution. The feud between Becky Lynch, Lyra Valkyria, and Bayley made the Intercontinental Championship feel essential, and this match was the high watermark for all three women in 2025. More than that, it was the perfect match to represent women’s evolution in WWE. After all these years, veterans like Becky and Bayley continue reaching higher peaks, while new talents like Lyra expand the boundaries of what women are capable of in the ring. If this match is any indication, the future of the women’s division is more than bright — it’s already here. Here’s to more like this in 2026.
Be sure to check back tomorrow as we reveal the No. 1 (and No. 2) match of 2025!
