Top 40 WWE Women’s Matches of 2025: No. 40 to 38

2025 will go down as a legendary year in the WWE Women’s Division. The Women’s Evolution started a decade ago, but this is the year we finally saw all elements lock into place for WWE to be the world epicenter of women’s wrestling. The current roster is filled to the brim with incredible talent that provide a mix of world traveled skill, super charged star power, and competitive fire unlike anything we’ve seen in WWE.

Nearly everything converged this year to give us the best year of women’s wrestling yet. New stars and long overlooked women both stepped up to the plate, the often maligned tag division kicked into high gear, and there were non-top memorable matches to carry us the entire year. This decade before has provided us with hundreds of memorable matches, but the quantity of those this year alone upped the ante. Which brings us here: The Top 40 Matches of the WWE Women’s Division in 2025 according to Diva Dirt. That’s right, 40! And still many great matches were left off…

We’ll be counting down all month, with 3 matches a day until we narrow things down before the holidays. No single qualification defines the matches on this list. A high precedent is placed on work-rate, but memorable moments and charismatic markers matter too. If you don’t agree with something here, please tell us in the comments! Because what is more fun than arguing about wrestling here on Diva Dirt?

Without further ado, matches 40 — 38:

40. Jade Cargill vs. Liv Morgan — Smackdown (March 21, 2025)

Against a hot Italian crowd, Jade Cargill and Liv Morgan faced off for the first time, showing a surprising amount of chemistry as opponents. Jade’s first match since returning from her 2024 attack showed us a much sharper version of her than we’ve seen before. Liv similarly was able to showcase her growth as a competitor, using her wits to go toe-to-toe with the amazonian Jade, never allowing her to properly get the upper hand. A freshly heel Naomi allowed Liv to get the opportunity to hit the obLIVion and give Jade her first singles loss in WWE.

39. Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Nikki Bella — Women’s World Title Survivor Series: War Games

2025 saw the return of Nikki Bella in weekly competition. After something of a failure to launch, a long overdue heel turn saw Nikki return to form here in her best match since the first Evolution. Nikki hung with the champ, showcasing her training against a world traveled competitor in Stephanie Vaquer. Stephanie was able to execute maybe the most brutal Devil’s Kiss yes, smashing Nikki’s head repeatedly against the announce table. Ultimately though, Nikki’s veterans wiles couldn’t halt Stephanie’s momentum and the Spiral Tap took allowed her to to successfully retain the Women’s World Championship.

38. Liv Morgan vs. Iyo Sky — Raw (February 3, 2025)

Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky started 2025 at each other’s throats. The end of 2024 saw Liv defend against Iyo at Saturday Night’s Main Event and the two women entered as #1 and #2 in this year’s Rumble. Their mini feud culminated in this Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Iyo may be the opponent that brings out the best in Liv, and this match saw them go toe-to-toe in a fast paced, energetic contest that set the tone for the high quality TV matches we’d see on Raw all this year. We all know how this one ended, with Rhea’s interference proving unsuccessful and allowing Liv to qualify for the Chamber at the expense of Iyo. And we all know that would come back to bite her…
