Two More Spots Clutched For Upcoming Evolve Women’s Title Gauntlet Eliminator Match

All eyes continue to be on the EVOLVE Women’s Championship as the title needs a new home. The title was vacated a few weeks ago as Kendal Grey made her way to NXT. Now, eight women will participate in a Gauntlet Eliminator Match to determine the new champion. Heading into the April 8 episode of Evolve, we had five names for the match: Nikkita Lyons, Laynie Luck, Wendy Choo, Kali Armstrong, and PJ Vasa. Vasa earned the last entry into the upcoming match after winning a Fatal five-way last week agains the other women that were just named.

In addition to these five women, the Evolve Foreman Timothy Thatcher has added Tyra Mae Steele to the match. Her addition is due to her well fought match against Grey before the championship became vacant. The seventh woman was determined by a Fatal 4way of the new ID prospects.

The four new prospects were confirmed as follows –

  • Airica Demia is now Anya Rune
  • Notorious Mimi will now go back to her NXT name Sloane Jacobs
  • Fallyn Grey is now Veronica Haven
  • Valentina Rossi is now Gianna Capri

After the introductions, PJ Vasa came out to talk and intimidate her upcoming victims in the ring. The match was won by Jacobs who pinned Haven. She is now added to next week’s gauntlet match.

For the eighth and final competitor, Thatcher said he would have to “make a phone call.”

After Jacobs picked up the win, she was met with Kali Armstrong. In the VIP lounge was Luck and Lyons. Luck went after Armstrong who fired back with Armstrong standing tall. She said she will become the new champion, but Lyons was talking from the VIP lounge saying it would be her as the next champion.
