Update On Kris Statlander’s Knee Injury

It was confirmed on the Aug. 10 episode of AEW Dynamite that Kris Statlander had suffered an injury and was not able to compete at this time. She was sitting at the number one spot on the women’s rankings which would have made her the number one contender for the AEW Women’s World Championship currently held by Thunder Rosa. Toni Storm is now listed in the top spot.

In a report by PWInsider, they state that Statlander was backstage this week but was seen on crutches. It is believed to be a knee injury but the severity and the length of time she will miss are unknown in the report. However, the need for surgery seems likely. PWInsider adds that they were told she was in the midst of a major push as she was around the TBS Championship with the champion Jade Cargill as well as Athena who also had her eyes on the gold.

Statlander has already had one knee surgery for a torn ACL which kept her out of action from June 2021 to March 2022.

Since this report was published, Statlander took to Twitter to say the following –

Diva Dirt sends our best wishes to Kris Statlander and we give her strength for her healing process.
