Willow Nightingale is your new AEW Women’s World Champion after defeating Thekla at the Redemption event on Sunday. This makes Nightingale the first woman in AEW history to become a Triple Crown Champion. She is a former two-time AEW Women’s TBS Champion and was one-half of the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champion. The final moments of the match had Thekla caught in a backslide, which gave Nightingale the three count.
Nightingale celebrated with the AEW Trios Champions and fellow Conglomeration members. She is the twelfth woman to hold the top gold in AEW.
Thekla had a fantastic reign as AEW Women’s World Champion. This defeat ended her reign at 165 days. She defended the gold successfully seven times since she won it in February.
