On September 16, 2025, WWE NXT returned home to Full Sail University for NXT Homecoming! The night kicked off with a video package spotlighting the women who shaped NXT history from the Horsewomen to Asuka, Shayna Baszler, and Ember Moon before the current stars took center stage. Let’s break down what went down.
The Women’s Tag Team Champions wasted no time making their presence known. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss interrupted Shawn Michaels and Triple H, with the Full Sail crowd chanting “WELCOME HOME.” Bliss quipped that she and Charlotte argue less than the legends do, while Charlotte reminded everyone that no matter who’s in charge, the women have always run NXT. Dropping names from Paige to IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley, they declared that the Women’s Evolution started here and if anyone wasn’t down with that, they had “two words” for them.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Izzi Dame & Tatum Paxley
Bliss and Paxley opened with a quirky mirror spot, both clutching their dolls before locking up. Paxley’s early strength advantage saw Bliss slammed down, but Alexa countered into a near-Sister Abigail before hitting a headscissor takedown. Charlotte and Izzi tagged in, with Flair offering a handshake that Dame quickly slapped away. Flair’s chops lit up the crowd, though Izzi’s jawbreaker briefly swung momentum.
The challengers gained control during the break, isolating Flair with knee strikes and a second-rope kick combo. Izzi taunted Charlotte with slaps and trash talk, only to get floored in a wild exchange of strikes. Hot tag to Bliss, she unloaded with a dropkick, neckbreaker, and strikes that had Paxley reeling.
Momentum shifted when Paxley cut her off with a back elbow and nearly stole it with a rope-assisted pin. Paxley hit her Psycho Blade, but Charlotte broke it up. After chaos spilled outside, Paxley missed a 450 splash. Bliss capitalized with a right hand into her Abigail DDT for the win.
Winners: Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss (retain Women’s Tag Team Titles)
Zaria was caught watching the champs celebrate and vented to Sol Ruca, blaming her for the loss in last week’s #1 Contenders’ Match. Shayna Baszler reappeared on NXT TV to mediate, telling the two they’ll need to patch things up if they want future success. Begrudgingly, they agreed.
Bianca Belair appeared in the audience before our 6 Woman Tag Main Event.
Main Event: Fatal Influence vs. Lyra Valkyria, Stephanie Vaquer & Rhea Ripley
Fatal Influence jumped the bell, swarming Stephanie Vaquer until Jacy Jayne scored a senton for two. Vaquer answered with roll-ups and a rana before tagging in Lyra Valkyria, who came in hot with a cartwheel dodge and crisp kicks. Rhea Ripley tagged in next, only for Jazmyn Nyx to slap her and immediately regret it when Ripley kicked her flat. The faces cleared the ring heading into break.
Back from commercial, Nyx locked Valkyria in an inverted STF, grinding her down until Fallon Henley tagged in. The heels hit a double flapjack and Jacy followed with a nearfall off her Lights Out DDT. Valkyria rallied with a sit-out powerbomb before tagging in Vaquer, who tore through FI with a high crossbody, suplex, Eat Defeat, and Meteora-style knees. Nyx answered with a heel kick, but Vaquer survived a double-team and fought back.
The match hit another gear when Ripley tagged in, delivering short-arm clotheslines, a crescent kick, and a fallaway slam. Chaos ensued Vaquer helped Ripley drop both Jacy and Fallon, while Valkyria took out Nyx on the outside. Ripley and Vaquer nailed a Double Devil’s Kiss to Henley that even made Booker T clutch his chest at commentary.
Vaquer then repeatedly smashed Fallon into the booth before Jacy tried to bail—only to be stopped by Lola Vice, who rocked her with a spinning backfist. That set up Ripley’s Riptide for the decisive victory.
Winners: Lyra Valkyria, Stephanie Vaquer & Rhea Ripley
Next week! Speed #1 Contender’s Match: Candice LeRae vs. Lainey Reid
NXT Homecoming was a bit lacking on the women but the matches delivered.
