X-Pac proposes “Chyna Memorial Battle Royal” during induction

Newly-enshrined WWE Hall of Famer, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, called for WWE to rename the annual WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal in honor of his late stablemate, Chyna.

“You know, they have the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, I think the Chyna Memorial Battle Royal has a nice ring to it,” Waltman said during his induction speech on Saturday night.

Chyna was inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside X-Pac and the rest of D-Generation-X. She was the “magic ingredient” as X-Pac put it and an integral role in the group’s overwhelming success.

The induction comes after years of WWE distancing itself from Chyna due to her controversial life outside of wrestling.

The WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal is not without controversy, itself. Last year’s inaugural battle royal originally paid tribute to the late women’s wrestling pioneer, the Fabulous Moolah.

After a sizable backlash over allegations of misconduct throughout Moolah’s career, the WWE changed the name to “WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal.”

Chyna wrestled for the WWE from 1997-2001, winning the Women’s Championship on one occasion, and the Intercontinental title twice. She was also the first woman to ever compete in the Royal Rumble.
