Yuka Sakazaki made her return to AEW on this week’s Dark Elevation. The ‘Magical Girl’ picked up her victory at the first edition of the show to take place outside of Jacksonville. She will be facing Penelope Ford this Wednesday at Fyter Fest Night One.
She faced KiLynn King in an ok but messy outing that saw her receive a lot of offence from her larger opponent. She was able to withstand everything King could throw at her to win her first AEW match in five months.
Thunder Rosa opened the show with a good match against Dreamgirl Ellie. Rosa hit her signature stiff offence and fended off Ellie’s attacks with nice counters. The former NWA World Women’s Champion picked up the win with a submission.
Riho took on Amber Nova in an ok outing. Nova controlled the match early on using heel tactics to wear Riho down. But the first-ever AEW Women’s World Champion fired back to win after a top rope double stomp.
Next up Leyla Hirsch made quick work of AEW debutant Kelsey Heather. Hirsch dropped Heather with several suplexes before taking her out with an armbreaker.
We got a break from the action as Jade Cargill revealed in a press conference that she is off to conquer Hollywood.
Tay Conti vs Lebrava followed. The number 2 ranked star took out the debuting wrestler with several signature Judo throws. Lebrava made a comeback but it did little to slow Conti who hit Tay-KO for the win.
Red Velvet took Leila Grey next in an ok match. Grey got some offence in on Velvet but a standing moonsault and Chef’s Kiss put the up-and-comer away.
And finally, Hikaru Shida faced Julia Hart in a good match. Shida started and remained in control for much of the bout, but Hart showed a lot of heart. She hit the former champ with a flurry offence. However, Shida stood strong and forced the cheerleader to tap after the Full Metal Muffler.
