Zaria Stands Alone, Kali Armstrong Continues Her Rise, and Izzi Dame Scores Big

Tuesday night’s episode of WWE NXT on May 6, 2026 felt very much like a transition-era episode in the best and most chaotic way possible. With several names recently called up following WrestleMania 42, NXT is once again in that familiar position where new personalities are being thrown into the mix almost weekly. Some viewers are fully locked into the Evolve and WWE ID pipeline already. I am…trying my best. But honestly, that unpredictability is part of the charm of NXT. One week somebody is a complete unknown, and two months later they’re standing in the middle of the women’s division acting like they own the place.

Jaida Parker vs. Kali Armstrong

The night opened with Jaida Parker trying to slow down the increasingly dangerous Kali Armstrong.

The match had a physical tone right away, with both women trading control early before Parker started bringing more aggression into it outside the ring. Kali kept absorbing punishment and firing back with raw power, which has quickly become her entire brand. There’s still a slight “learning on the fly” quality to some of her offense, but honestly, that almost works in her favor right now because she wrestles like somebody trying to prove she belongs immediately.

Parker eventually found momentum with a flurry of offense that finally got the crowd moving behind her. Unfortunately for her, Kali reminded everyone that she’s perfectly comfortable taking shortcuts when necessary. After catching Parker with an eye rake, Kali blasted her with the Kali Collection running shoulder tackle to secure yet another win.

Winner by pinfall: Kali Armstrong

This was a solid match between two athletes NXT clearly values highly. The company is high on Kali Armstrong aggressively, and while the finish protected Parker a bit thanks to the cheap shot beforehand, it still continues the frustratingly consistent pattern of Jaida Parker hovering around the title scene without actually getting the big breakthrough. At this point, Jaida feels less like a future champion and more like somebody NXT is deliberately making us wait for. Whether that’s patience or emotional warfare depends on the week.Later in the night we saw Jaida destroying the locker room in frustration only to be confronted by a returning Nattie.

Zaria Declares Her Intentions

For the first time since defeating Sol Ruca in their Last Woman Standing Match two weeks ago, Zaria addressed the state of the women’s division and, more importantly, herself.

Zaria’s promo was straightforward and effective. No distractions. No emotional unraveling. Just somebody who fully convinced herself that cutting ties with everyone around her was actually best for her development. She spoke about finally standing alone and made it very clear that the NXT Women’s North American Championship is now the focus.

That immediately brought out Tatum Paxley with the title in hand, reminding Zaria that holding that championship comes with consequences. Paxley continues to thrive in this wonderfully unsettling “possibly haunted Victorian doll who learned violence” role, and her warning about putting somebody in a casket to keep the title fit perfectly.

Then the interruptions started arriving in waves because this is NXT, and apparently no promo segment is legally allowed to end peacefully.

Lizzy Rain entered next to establish herself as the newest name looking to shake up the division, while Nikkita Lyons arrived shortly afterward to remind everyone she still exists and apparently believes she deserves partial ownership of Lizzy Rain’s momentum. Naturally, this turned into a fight.

Zaria eventually cleaned house, ending the segment by planting Paxley with an F5 before placing the championship over her.

The segment itself was standard NXT chaos, but the important takeaway is obvious: Zaria feels positioned as one of the centerpiece women in the division moving forward. Whether it’s the North American Championship or eventually the main women’s title, it’s hard to imagine 2026 ending without her holding gold.

Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana vs. The Culling’s Izzi Dame & Niko Vance

Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana brought a strange but surprisingly functional energy as the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions, while Izzi Dame and Niko Vance represented The Culling alongside Shawn Spears. The match wisely leaned into Iguana’s charisma without completely turning into a comedy act, which helped keep everything balanced.

Vice looked sharp throughout, especially once the pace picked up during the second half of the match. Her striking offense continues to stand out immediately every time she gets momentum. Meanwhile, Dame quietly had one of her better performances in recent memory and looked completely comfortable matching Vice physically.

The match eventually broke down into fast-paced chaos, with submissions, near falls, interference attempts, and enough moving parts to keep the crowd engaged throughout. In the end, Izzi Dame capitalized after the chaos settled and connected with a running knee to pin the NXT Women’s Champion clean.

Winners by pinfall: The Culling – Izzi Dame & Niko Vance

This ended up being better than expected. Mr. Iguana’s antics were toned down just enough to avoid swallowing the match whole, and the bigger story here is simple: Izzi Dame pinned the NXT Women’s Champion. That’s usually wrestling shorthand for “title match incoming,” and honestly, Dame has quietly earned that spotlight.

Backstage, Zaria learned she’ll team with Nikkita Lyons against Tatum Paxley and Lizzy Rain next week. Zaria looked about as thrilled as somebody being told they have to attend a mandatory group project meeting, but Mr. Stone assured her this would be temporary.

Elsewhere, Kelani Jordan mocked Lola Vice for her loss before Kendal Grey entered the conversation to stake her own claim toward the title picture. The exchange quickly turned argumentative, which will likely lead to a match next week.

Final Thoughts

This episode wasn’t trying to be a blockbuster show. It was a rebuilding episode. New names are cycling in, several women are clearly being positioned for bigger roles, and the division feels crowded in a productive way again.

Kali Armstrong is stacking wins, Zaria feels destined for a championship run, and Izzi Dame suddenly has a very legitimate argument for a title opportunity.

That’s not a bad place for the women’s division to be heading into the summer months. .
