STARDOM crowns new tag champions

This past weekend, June 3, 2018, the Goddessess of STARDOM Championships were on the line. The defenders Kagetsu and Hana Kimura took on Mayu Iwatani and Saki Kashima.

The team of Iwatani and Kashima proved to be tough competition for Kagetsu and Hana Kimura as Iwatani and Kashima ended the duo’s 347 day reign.

Saki Kashima is a former Artists of STARDOM Champion who returned to the company in March after a five-year retirement from wrestling. This is her first time holding the belt.

This is Mayu Iwatani’s second reign with the belts, having previously held the tag titles with Io Shirai as ‘Thunder Rock’. She still holds the record for the longest reign at 407 days with Shirai.

Hana Kimura is set to embark on a three-month tour of Mexico along with appearing for Women of Honor later this month. Mayu Iwatani and Kagetsu are all scheduled to wrestle for Women of Honor as well.

Congratulations to the new champions!
