Tamina & Natalya pick up a big win on SmackDown; Nia Jax gets title shot next week

The quest for a double champion continues.

Sasha Banks has the opportunity to become a double champion heading into WrestleMania as she teams up with Bianca Belair at Fastlane on March 21. Banks, the current SmackDown Women’s Champion, and Belair will be facing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler at that event. Now, thanks to Reginald, Jax wants to become a double champion.

On tonight’s SmackDown before this revelation came to Jax, she sat at ringside with Baszler as they watched their Fastlane opponents in a match. Banks and Belair took on Natalya and Tamina. Prior to this match, the WrestleMania opponents had some words on the KO Show.

Natalya and Tamina are looking more and more like a team and their pairing gels really well together. They took advantage of Reginald being at ringside as well who always seems to stick his nose in a match. He has a lot more time on his hands now that Carmella fired him last week and he is firmly at the side of the tag team champs.

As Banks chased Reginald across the ring, Belair had Tamina for a three count but the referee was distracted. Natalya took out Banks who fell to the outside. Belair then delivered a right hand to Natalya who rolled to the outside as well. This allowed Tamina to be the opportunist as she stacked up the Royal Rumble winner and got the three count for the win.

This left Belair irate at Banks for continuing to focus her energy on Reginald. Banks refused to take even partial blame as Belair was the one who took the L.

Later in the night, Reginald put in the mind of Jax that she should be the one to head into WrestleMania as a double champion and not Banks. So with that, Jax will be facing Banks next week for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

What do you think this win means for Natalya and Tamina? What do you think will happen when Nia faces Sasha next week? Leave your thoughts below.
