AEW Dynamite Discussion Post: 05.19.21

As we rapidly approach AEW’s next pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing, there are two matches on the show for tonight.

Double or Nothing takes place one week from Sunday on May 30 and so far has only one women’s match on the card. AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida will defend her title against Dr. Britt Baker at that event.

Shida is approaching one full year as champion as she won the title against Nyla Rose at last year’s Double or Nothing on May 25. Tonight, she will go one-on-one in a non-title match against Rebel.

Also on the card is the return of the NWA World Women’s Champion Serena Deeb. Deeb has been out of action due to an injury for the past number of months. She is jumping right back in and putting her title on the line against Red Velvet. This will be Red Velvet’s first title match in AEW.
