Four NXT talents reportedly released: Vanessa Borne, Kavita Devi, Jessamyn Duke, and Skyler Story

It is being reported that WWE has released talent from their NXT brand.

Of those talent’s four have been confirmed from two different sources. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp is confirming the releases of Vanessa Borne, Kavita Devi, and Jessamyn Duke. PWInsider is confirming the release of Skyler Story.

Vanessa Borne is the biggest name on this list. Borne hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since January 2020 where she took part in a Battle Royal. Borne was best known in a tag team with Aliyah. That team was written off TV and Aliyah would then join the Robert Stone Brand which she is still with to this day. Borne participated in the first Mae Young Classic Tournament in 2017 and was eliminated in the first round against Serena Deeb.

There had been rumors that Borne had been called up to the main roster in 2020. She never debuted on the main roster before her release.

Kavita Devi appeared in both Mae Young Classic Tournaments. She also appeared in the Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34. Devi was the first woman of Indian nationality to sign with WWE. She suffered an injury that had her sidelined. She was supposed to appear earlier this year alongside Charlotte Flair as a tag team for the WWE Superstar Spectacular highlighting Indian talent. Devi wasn’t able to attend as she had to return to India to take care of a family matter. She was replaced in that match by Sareena Sandhu.

Jessamyn Duke was one of the four horsewomen of MMA and was in a tag team alongside Marina Shafir during Shayna Baszler‘s days in NXT. Once Baszler moved on from NXT, Duke has rarely been utilized. She was seen during the short lived RAW Underground.

Skyler Story, also known as Brandi Lauren or Ava Storie, was signed with WWE in 2020. She has a big following on the indie scene by doing work with EVOLVE and SHINE and a brief stint with IMPACT Wrestling and has done work with ROH. Lauren never made her official debut but did appear during RAW Underground.

It doesn’t appear that WWE has officially announced any of these releases at this time. Check back in with Diva Dirt for any further updates on this news story as they may be presented.
