Rebel, real name Tanea Brooks, made the devastating announcement that she has been diagnosed with terminal ALS. She mentioned during her video confirming her medical diagnosis that AEW has been extremely supportive during her medical journey. She had also been diagnosed with primary pulmonary lymphoma in November.
On commentary during the May 2 episode of Collision, Tony Schiavone sent a loving message to Rebel on behalf of AEW.
“You probably know by social media that one of our fine athletes has some very serious health problems. She announced it this week on social media. We want Rebel to know you’re a big part of AEW. We are thinking about you right now, we are praying for you, that you will pull through this. We got a lot of signs in the stands here tonight that says, ‘Rebel, we love you’ and ‘pray for Rebel,’ and we certainly do agree with that as well. Rebel, we hope you’ll get better… My dear, we are thinking about you. A wonderful young lady.”(Fightful/Transcript)
