Anna Jay Returns To In-Ring Action On Collision; Statlander Makes A Strong Threat To Hikaru Shida

Anna Jay made her return to in-ring action on the May 2 episode of AEW Collision. She had not been seen on AEW programming since November. Anna took on Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship. Nightingale has coined herself as the “comeback killer” who has defeated prior comeback talents Hikaru Shida, Kamille, and Queen Aminata.

The final moments of the match, Anna locked the champion in the Queen Slayer, but Nightingale got to her feet and ran Anna into the corner, which broke the hold. Nightingale landed Anna with a Babe With the Powerbomb to get the pinfall victory and retain the TBS Championship. This was Nightingale’s ninth successful title defense. She has held the title since the end of 2025 when she dethroned Mercedes Mone.

Tensions are rising between Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida. A clip was shown between them after their tag title loss last week.

Since Shida’s return, she has linked up with Statlander, but has also cost the duo the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles against Divine Dominion. In a backstage interview, Shida said she will make it up to Statlander, as she has obtained a match for them against Mina Shirakawa and Harley Cameron on the upcoming Dynamite/Collision event on May 6.

Shirakawa and Cameron don’t understand how Statlander can still trust Shida, and also question where Statlander was when Toni Storm was attacked.

Speaking of Divine Dominion, they sent a message to the women’s tag team division. They warned them to stop even trying, as they just defeated two former AEW Women’s World Champions.

Skye Blue was also in action in a quick match against Nixi XS.
