Alexa Bliss opens up about her concussions

Alexa Bliss was recently interviewed by TV Insider. During the interview, they spoke on various topics including her time in Saudi Arabia during Super ShowDown, her relationship with Nikki Cross, and her gaining knowledge on her prior concussions.

Bliss was removed from the Money in the Bank ladder match last month due to not being medically cleared. There was no confirmation on another concussion, but she was removed as a precaution.

For the past few weeks, she has been involved in a feud with Bayley and has made her way back in the ring. She will be facing Bayley this Sunday at Stomping Grounds for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Per TV Insider, Bliss spoke about her anxiousness about getting back into the ring. She had the following to say:

“At first I was very nervous, coming back to the ring because I didn’t know exactly what was going on in my head,” she said. “I knew I had a concussion, but I didn’t really research concussions. Then I was sent to a concussion specialist in Pittsburgh who pretty much schooled me on pretty much everything on concussions.”

She continued, “It made me feel a lot better about the whole situation. It made me feel I was in charge of my injury. It made me feel like I understood it. I’m definitely not nervous at all being in the ring. I was at first, but now that I’m educated on the topic and know the steps to take to make sure it doesn’t happen again. With the brain exercises that I do and eye exercises, I feel like I’m more prepared than ever now.”

Bliss will be the feature of WWE 365 which will air on the WWE Network following Stomping Grounds. The special will focus on her professional career from the past year. Although a synopsis of the show hasn’t been disclosed, additional information on her past injuries will probably be a focus.
