There has been a change of plans for the first women’s Owen Hart Cup match at Double or Nothing this Sunday. The original match that was set was Willow Nightingale taking on Alex Windsor, however, on the May 20 episode of Dynamite, Nightingale confirmed an injury. This has taken Nightingale out of the Owen Hart Cup and also had her vacate the TBS Championship. A “Wild Card” entrant will take her place against Windsor at a future date.
The first match for the Owen Hart Cup that will be taking place now is between Athena and Mina Shirakawa. This has now been added to Double or Nothing. Athena has participated in the Owen Hart Cup previously. This is Shirakawa’s first time.
Added to the Buy In for Double or Nothing is the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion facing Zayda Steel and Viva Van. If Steel Van can defeat the champs in five minutes or less, they earn a future title shot.
