Bayley and Lyra Valkyria took their former friendship in between the ropes at Saturday Night’s Main Event recently. The match ended with Valkyria coming out on top and Bayley hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since.
Bayley decided to vlog the experience from New York at Madison Square Garden. She reflected on the joy she feels that she has had this opportunity more than once. Adding to the reflection, Bayley talks about seeing her career in a different view now and knowing her worth.
“It’s a big moment for both of us,” Bayley said about facing Valkyria. “Just to wrestle inside the Garden, perform inside of the Garden is obviously like bucket list for a lot of performers. Whether you’re in sports, or you’re a musician, or you’re in the WWE — yeah, it’s a big deal anytime you get to be a part of it. I’ve been doing this for so long and I’ve wrestled in the Garden multiple times — a really good amount of times, thankfully. But this one just feels different. I think the time and the stage I am in my career right now, I feel like I’m taking a further look back at everything, or seeing it from a different view and knowing my place in this business and knowing my worth in this business. And Lyra’s going to find out the hard way, let’s just say that.”
The first Women’s Grand Slam Champion has been with WWE since 2012 and made her debut in the business in 2008 (nearly two decades ago).
