Becky Lynch & Lita vs. Damage CTRL Women’s Tag Team Title Match Set For Raw Feb. 27

After the Feb. 20 episode of Raw, we have three women’s matches booked for next week’s show. The biggest match being for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships as Lita has returned to team with Becky Lynch to make the challenge.

Lita made a return to WWE just a few weeks ago when she helped out Lynch in her victory against Bayley in a steel cage match. Now, Lynch wants to cash in further on their new found friendship and go after the tag team titles.

In a Ding Dong, Hello! segment, Bayley hosted Damage CTRL on her talk show. During the segment, Bayley would boast that Dakota Kai and IYO SKY are the best to hold tag team gold as they have just surpassed 100 days as champions. Kai states that they have gone through many who have tried to take the gold from them and boasted about their accomplishment. Kai also credited Bayley for their success.

The segment was interrupted by Lynch. Lynch called Kai out for her words saying that the team hasn’t defended the tag titles in so long that they are collecting dust. In fact, the last time they defended the gold was against Tegan Nox & Liv Morgan in December. Lynch would then state she wants to take the titles off of them and go into WrestleMania as a tag team champion. Bayley scoffed and stated that Lynch has no friends, so who will she get to be her partner – her son?

Lynch would then introduce Lita as they both made their way to the ring. Lita states that she had hopes of becoming a five-time women’s champion against Lynch last year, but if she can’t do that, then she wants to become tag team champion WITH Lynch instead. The challenge was set and accepted by Bayley.

Also on this week’s Raw, Asuka took on Nikki Cross. The Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair was at ringside by commentary to watch the match. Cross put up a fight, but in the end, Asuka would lock in the arm bar submission to get the victory. Post-match, Belair would go face-to-face with Auska in the ring. Asuka would have her blue mist come out of her mouth and down her chin with a smile on her face to end the segment.

Other women on the show this week included Rhea Ripley sitting down alongside Dominik Mysterio to talk about her upcoming WrestleMania match against Charlotte Flair. Dominik made sure that the talk did not include Beth Phoenix.

Ripley says that Flair refuses to see what everyone else sees and that she is the best woman in WWE right now. She adds that if Flair wants to put Ripley in her place then good – because that place is standing over top of Flair as SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Chelsea Green gave a call to Adam Pearce. Somehow she ended up in Ottawa, Illinois, and not Ottawa Canada. And she wasn’t happy.

Maxxine Dupri showed up during a match between Chad Gable and Bronson Reed. Otis was at ringside and Dupri lured him over to try and continue to recruit him to the Maximum Male Models even though Gable keeps thinking he is going to be the one to be recruited.

In a backstage segment/interview with Candice LeRae, Byron Saxton was asking her about Johnny Gargano’s status after the Elimination Chamber match on Saturday. While saying Gargano was banged up but will be back soon, Nikki Cross walked by. LeRae kept trying to stop her because she is determined why Cross has been stalking her for months. Cross seemingly upset and looked lost, whispered to LeRae something about not having any friends anymore and feeling all alone before she ran off. LeRae confirmed she has a match against Piper Niven next week.

Carmella spoke to Adam Pearce and convinced him to give her a match next week against Asuka.

Maryse appeared backstage celebrating her anniversary with The Miz.
