Becky Lynch vs. Asuka set for the RAW Women’s Title at the Royal Rumble

It was made official last week that Becky Lynch is going to defend her title against Asuka in an upcoming match. It was not determined when this match would take place, until now. It will go down at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 26. The champion confirmed this in a backstage interview.

Earlier in the day, the RAW Women’s Champion would post on her Twitter account that her contract is set to renew. She explains during the announcement of her match against Asuka that she refused to talk about her new contract deal until this match had a date.

The Man explained that she could just sit back, keep her mouth shut, and sign her new contract but that isn’t how she is going to handle this. She continues by saying history needed to know if a woman could be the face of this business, which she did. Now it comes down to one simple question – “Was it worth it?”

Last year at the Royal Rumble event Lynch may have won the women’s Royal Rumble match but she failed to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Lynch would tap out to the Empress of Tomorrow.

This year she is ready to go again, but this time she has more to lose. She walks in as the longest-reigning RAW Women’s Champion and if Asuka defeats her again she will become Asuka 2 Belts.

What are your thoughts on this upcoming match? Who do you think will walk out of the Minute Maid Park in Houston, TX as the RAW Women’s Champion? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
