There were four nominees for this award and Belair herself was nominated twice in the category. Her second nomination was for winning the Royal Rumble and holding the longest time in a women’s Rumble Match. They were up against Edge winning the men’s Royal Rumble match (becoming the third person ever to do so from the number one position) and Bad Bunny teaming with Damian Priest at WrestleMania.

Both of the women’s nominations made history this year. Belair became the first African American female to win a Royal Rumble Match. As for the main event with Belair and Banks, this was the first time two African American women fought for a title at WrestleMania as well as main-evented.

Both Superstars had many photos taken during the event and on the red carpet. Belair posted on her Twitter account that she made her dress for the night just as she is known for making her wrestling gears.

In 2019, Becky Lynch was nominated for winning the first-ever women’s main event at WrestleMania capturing both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Titles. Ronda Rousey was also nominated for winning the RAW Women’s Title at SummerSlam. Roman Reigns took the honor that year for returning to the ring after a recurrence of leukemia.

Congratulations to both Bianca and Sasha for their well-deserved win.
