Five matches from Elimination Chamber events that are a must-see

RAW Women’s Championship- Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley vs. Mickie James – Elimination Chamber Match 2018

Heading into the Elimination Chamber event in 2018 many first were happening for the women. They had just come off of the first ever women’s Royal Rumble and women wrestling fans everywhere were on that high. They continued this with the first ever women’s Elimination Chamber match.

Alexa Bliss had to defend her RAW Women’s Championship against five other women in the chain-linked circular structure. Bliss didn’t like the fact that she had to defend her title in this style of match whereas Universal Champion Brock Lesnar did not. She called out sexism as a result.

The other members of the match were Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose, Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Mickie James. Because four of the women other than Mickie James were best friends and cohorts, Bliss found solace in an old buddy – James. Unfortunately for Bliss, James was eliminated before she entered the match.

Banks and Bayley’s friendship didn’t matter in the chamber however which gave an opening for Bliss. Banks would turn on Bayley, and after Bayley’s elimination, it would get down to just Banks and Bliss.

After a Twisted Bliss from the top of a pod, Banks would counter with a Bank Statement, but they weren’t inside the ring for it to count. Bliss would eventually get the pin and win to retain her title. She would go on to WrestleMania where she faced Nia Jax.

SmackDown Women’s Championship – Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss (c) Elimination Chamber 2017

A second match involving the Goddess has made this list, however, this story is far more about Naomi. At the beginning of 2017, Naomi picked up several wins against the then SmackDown Women’s Champion – Alexa Bliss. Naomi had her eyes set on becoming the first African American to win the belt.

Naomi would reach her goal as she picks up a win with her split leg moonsault to pin Bliss and win the belt. Unfortunately for her, she would have to relinquish the title just days later which caused the championship to go right back to Bliss.

At WrestleMania just two months later, Naomi would return for a six-pack challenge for another chance at the title that she never lost. She would make her WrestleMania as she defeated 5 other women and caused Bliss to submit. This occurred in her hometown of Orlando, Fla.

At the time of this writing, Naomi has the potential to repeat this in 2020. She is a heavily rumored contender for the same title against Bayley at this year’s biggest event.
