Five NXT UK Female Talents Released By WWE

Along with the announcement earlier today that NXT UK will turn into NXT Europe in 2023, the brand will be taking a hiatus. The last event for the brand will be Worlds Collide on Sept. 4 against NXT 2.0. Some talent will be incorporated into NXT 2.0 but there were a five names from the women’s roster that were released today.

Those talents released are –

The first-ever French female talent in WWE, Amale signed a contract to appear on the NXT UK brand in August 2020. In the two years, she spent with the company she was seen frequently on its weekly shows. She would receive an NXT UK Women’s Championship match against Meiko Satomura in July 2021 in a losing effort. This would be Satomura’s first title defense with the gold she currently still holds.

Emilia McKenzie signed a contract with WWE in February 2021. She was quickly put in as the protege of Meiko Satomura. She took part in the inaugural championship tournament match to crown the first NXT UK Women’s Champion in 2018 and lost in the first round to Jinny.

Dani Luna was a member of the stable Sub Culture. Her male counterparts of that stable were also released. She would have her first matches in NXT UK at the end of 2019. Luna has not had a match since Oct. 2021 when she defeated Stevie Turner.

Next is Nina Samuels who was an original roster member for NXT UK. She participated in the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Championship tournament where she lost in the first round to Dakota Kai. While still being a constant in-ring competitor she would do a lot of work outside of the ring with the Nina Samuels Show where she would interview a lot of the NXT UK roster.

Lastly, we have Xia Brookside. Much like Samuels, Brookside was an original member of the NXT UK women’s division. She took part in the second Mae Young Classic Tournament and was eliminated in the first round by Io Shirai. She has frequently been seen on NXT UK programming and recently was put with the Eliza Alexander who was the newest addition to the roster.

Amale, McKenzie, Brookside, and Samuels have all had their profiles moved to the “WWE Alumni” section on WWE.com. Luna is still listed under the NXT UK roster.

The current women’s roster from that transition out of NXT UK is –

  • Aleah James
  • Aoife Valkyrie
  • Blair Davenport (who has seemingly made her move to NXT 2.0)
  • Eliza Alexander – Does not have a profile on WWE.com
  • Isla Dawn
  • Jinny
  • Meiko Satomura – NXT UK Women’s Champion
  • Stevie Turner

Diva Dirt sends our best wishes to the five women listed above and hopefully, we will see you back when NXT Europe is launched.
