IMPACT! Sacrifice Preview & Predictions: 03.05.22

IMPACT’s next special event will be aired tonight as Sacrifice will showcase four Knockouts matches in total. Three matches will have gold on the line and a bout between two newer Knockouts will take place on the countdown pre-show.

The matches are as follows:

Lady Frost vs. Gisele Shaw – Pre-show

Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. TBD – Champ Champ challenge for either the ROH Women’s World Championship or the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship

The IInspiration (c) vs. The Influence – Knockouts World Tag Team Championships

Mickie James (c) vs. Tasha Steelz – Knockouts World Championship

Both Lady Frost and Gisele Shaw are fairly new to IMPACT Wrestling with Shaw being the most recent Knockout brought into the fold. Both women have excelled on the indie scene and Frost became Shaw’s first opponent in February. Now, Frost wants a rematch as she feels their business with one another isn’t over.

Prediction: Despite Frost wanting some revenge here and unless they go for a third match, I see Gisele picking up the victory. It seems as though Gisele may step up against Purrazzo next so if that is the case then she will go over here.

Deonna Purrazzo is 3-0 when it comes to her Champ Champ open challenges. She has already defeated Santana Garrett, Miranda Alize, and most recently Lady Frost to retain her championships. Tonight, she will be facing an opponent that has yet to be named. Who will end up answering her challenge?

Prediction: Deonna will likely retain, however, it does depend on who her opponent will be and which belt is defended. Taya Valkyrie is the number one contender for the AAA title and if she answers the challenge she could very well become champion. If the battle is for the ROH title, I see Deonna holding onto that belt until ROH starts back up.

The IInspiration debuted in October at Bound for Glory and won the tag titles from Decay in their first match with the promotion. After retaining the titles against a rematch with Decay in November, they have been consistently feuding with The Influence but haven’t been able to defend the gold. The match has been canceled on two different occasions due to the talent involved not being medically cleared to compete. Now that it is finally taking place will The Influence capture the gold making this Tenille Dashwood’s first title in IMPACT?

Prediction: The Knockouts tag team division has certainly become smaller than it once was and I feel IMPACT is at the point where they have to build up a few more teams. With that being said and this match continually being booked, I see The Influence getting the win here. This will allow The IInspiration to get a rematch at Rebellion while building up some more teams for the division in the process. And part of me just really wants Tenille to finally win a championship.

Tasha Steelz is getting a second shot at the Knockouts World Title. After winning the Ultimate X match in January, she challenged the champion, Mickie James, at No Surrender. Steelz wasn’t able to get the victory but she did become the number one contender once again after defeating Chelsea Green this past week with an assist from Savannah Evans. The feud between the two has become rather personal with Steelz using verbal attacks on James in regards to her family.

Prediction: As much as I would enjoy Tasha becoming champion, I don’t see Mickie losing the title during an IMPACT! Plus event unless there was some personal reasoning behind it. Mickie will retain and at least hold the belt until Rebellion where she may lose the title at a bigger show.
