Tonight on AEW Dynamite, the last semi-final match in the Owen Hart Cup Tournament is taking place as Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter go one-on-one for the first time. The winner heads to the finals to take on the belt collector herself, “The CEO,” Mercedes Moné at Double or Nothing.
But first, the AEW Women’s World Champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm has an idea for a performance this Saturday on Collision. Queen Aminata appears and says she’s ready for a fight.
We get on with the main event of the evening, and these two are quick to prove why they’re the favorites to win the tournament. Both women brawl out to the apron, but Hayter takes advantage as she sweats it off.
Hayter slugs it out with Statlander as they both exchange submission attempts. But through sheer strength, Statlander powers through as the two go back and forth.
Statlander is in position as she hits a 450 splash only for a two-count. The two end up propped on the top rope, but Hayter sends Statlander crashing onto the canvas. Hayter hits the Hayterade and seals her ticket to the finals.
Post-match, “The CEO” herself makes an appearance and has no doubts that she’s taking that Owen Hart trophy home.
