Jazz confirms that she has wrestled her last match ever

Wrestling legend and veteran Jazz has confirmed that she has indeed retired from in-ring competition. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, the former two-time WWE Women’s Champion set the tone at the beginning of the interview saying that she has had her last match. She acknowledges how wrestling “retirement” goes, but she says she is finished.

Van Vliet comments on how well she looks and also performs which led to her making the announcement. She had the following to say:

“Honestly, I just had my last match this past Sunday. I am done with in-ring. My knees, I am limping right now. I am not going to Terry Funk it. I was going to do a whole tour in 2020 but with the pandemic happening, that screwed everything up. We’ll see for 2021, we may do a little tour.”

Jazz adds that she went into her last match knowing that it would be her last. She adds that in the future she may do some short work such as a few spots, but she won’t be doing full matches anymore.

She continues, “I’ve been having issues with my knees and my back and a lot more issues physically, mentally, and emotionally. That’s why I had to forfeit the NWA title….. I have two beautiful daughters and I have to focus on them right now.”

Speaking of the NWA Title she held that title for an impressive 948-days. Jazz being in WWE was just a small part of her career. Although WWE and ECW were earlier in her career, she would go on to do a lot of work in the indies. She was last seen on screen in AEW during the Casino Battle Royale in 2019 at their All Out Buy-in event.

Jazz seems to still be very interested in the industry and it appears she may still stick around in some other type of capacity.

Regardless of what the future holds for Jazz, women’s wrestling cannot be talked about without mentioning her contributions.
