Jordynne Grace Talks TNA Knockouts, Masha Slamovich Wasn’t On TNA’s Mind To Lead Division

Jordynne Grace is now in WWE and has been working in its NXT brand. She is rumored to be on SmackDown imminently. However, prior to her current status in the wrestling industry, Grace was at the top of the TNA Knockouts division. She worked for the promotion since 2018 and is a former three-time TNA Kmockouts World Champion. A title she held up until she dropped it to Masha Slamovich at Bound for Glory last year.

While speaking with Uncrowned, Grace recalls a conversation with the powers that be on who would head the division when she left. Shocking for her, Slamovich wasn’t even on their minds.

“I remember having the conversation about who I thought would be next,” Grace said.

“Honestly, they didn’t have Masha’s name in their head at all, which surprised me, but I really [feel] that Masha was the one. … I don’t know any of the people that are really in charge, I don’t have a relationship with them. But at the time, I don’t think that her independent work and GCW work was translating over to TNA in the Knockouts Division. They didn’t get it. It didn’t click for them.

“But I knew how good she was, and I knew how important it was for her to be the one to be the next … leader of that locker room.”

Grace left TNA for WWE in January, but Slamovich won the title off of Grace in October. Slamovich is still the current champion as of this writing and most recently defended against Victoria Crawford. She takes on Lei Ying Li next at Against All Odds.
