Kay Lee Ray becomes longest-reigning WWE women’s champion in decades

NXT UK Women’s Champion, Kay Lee Ray is celebrating becoming the longest-reigning WWE women’s champion in the last 35 years. The “Scary Queen of Scotts” has held the title for a whopping 524 days.

Ray won the NXT UK women’s title way back in August of 2019 when she defeated Toni Storm at NXT UK TakeOver Cardiff. Since then Ray has successfully defended the title a further five times.

The reign has overtaken Asuka who held the NXT Women’s Championship for 522 days from 2016-2017. Ray is now the second longest-reigning women’s champion in WWE history behind the Fabulous Moolah‘s unbreakable 3,651-day title run.

Kay Lee Ray arrived in NXT UK in February 2019 and has since run roughshod over the women’s division and remains undefeated in singles action on that brand. However, her days as champion may be numbered with the arrival of the Japanese legend and “Final Boss”, Meiko Satomura.

All at Diva Dirt send our congratulations to Kay Lee Ray on her landmark acheivement.
