Kendal Grey is the new NXT Women’s Champion. In the main event of the Great American Bash on Sunday, Grey defeated Lola Vice to become the 23rd woman to win the NXT gold.
In a match that was very worthy of the main event spot, the two women who are very familiar with one another put on a clinic. The bout was full of submission attempts and trading blows. Kelani Jordan did attempt to interfere earlier on, but Wren Sinclair quickly removed her to the back. The final moments had Grey hit Shades of Grey to get the pin and the belt. This ended Vice’s reign at 84 days.
Earlier in the show, Sinclair retained her WWE Women’s Speed Title against Arianna Grace. She submitted Grace with the Final Wrench.
Zaria also retained against former NXT Women’s North American Champion, Tatum Paxley. Another blockbuster match between these two almost had Paxley retain the title at one point after a double dose of Cemetery Drives. After multiple F-5’s, Zaria finally kept Paxley down for the three count.
Paxley had a backstage interview later in the show where Kelani Jordan interrupted. It turned into a brawl.
Nattie has a backstage segment with her dungeon stable, Karmen Petrovic and Evolve Women’s Champion, Nikkita Lyons. They try and welcome Layla Diggs into the fray, but Diggs wanted Nattie to give some grace to Jaida Parker. This Tuesday on NXT, Petrovic will take on Parker.
