Lita Reportedly Turned Down Working With WOW Promotion

It is being reported that the Women of Wrestling (WOW) promotion had interest in working with WWE Hall of Famer Lita.

Earlier this year, Fightful had reported that AEW reached out to Lita for a potential storyline with Dr. Britt Baker. Lita opted to pass on AEW at the time and work with WWE earlier this year with the Royal Rumble appearance and then her first singles match in 15 years against Becky Lynch at Elimination Chamber for the Raw Women’s Championship.

According to a new report from Fightful, AEW wasn’t the only company that wanted to work with her. WOW, which is relaunching its shows later this year, reached out to her as well. Her response to them was quickly shut down.

Per Fightful Select

Fightful has learned that WOW Women of Wrestling at least made an overture to Lita prior to their public announcement that they’d be returning to TV. We were told that things didn’t get very far at all, as Lita made it clear that she had no interest in working with WOW Women of Wrestling, and specifically David McClane. One WOW source indicated that Lita made her feelings about McClane very obvious, and quickly rejected the overture.

WOW would quickly pivot from their original plan, which was to contact a lot of women’s wrestlers with global television exposure. Since then, they’d relied on building the brand around Tessa Blanchard, who was later ousted.

WOW is said to return to the air in the Fall of 2022.
