The Glamorous One has arrived in NXT!
News has been swirling for the past week of Mariah May’s exit from AEW, and the ink isn’t even dry yet as May has made her debut in NXT. On the June 3 episode of NXT, the newly crowned NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne made her way out to the ring to celebrate with her fellow Fatal Influence members (Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx).
After taking to the mic, the competitors started to come out of the woodwork, starting with Lainey Reid. Other names started throwing their names into the championship conversation, including Jaida Parker, Thea Hail, Lash Legend, Lola Vice, Jordynne Grace, and more. As they brawl around the ringside, the lights go out and the spotlight turns on. It lit up the birds-eye stage where Mariah May appeared.
May says that she has finally arrived. Without her name being given (maybe a Ricky Starks/Saints situation), May tells the roster that they are looking at the next NXT Women’s Champion and the division has just become a lot more glamorous.
Tyra Mae Steele made her in-ring debut on NXT. She appeared in the previous NXT Level Up program and is the winner of LFG Season One, which has given her an NXT contract. She faced Arianna Grace in a quick match and came out with a victory.
Other moments on NXT this week included a backstage moment between the NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca and Zaria, coming up on a depressed Tatum Paxley. Ruca and Zaria expressed their concern for Paxley, who didn’t go out to get involved in the women’s roster with Jacy Jayne. Izzi Dame appeared and seemed to think that Ruca and Zaria don’t have Paxley’s best interest in mind, and she seems to be wanting to recruit Paxley with her.
The women’s Evolve roster was backstage along with the new, and first, Evolve Women’s Champion, Kali Armstrong. She called out for her first challenger to stand up to her.
