Another Fan Meets Lita at Autograph Signing, More Return Talk

12

As a follow-up to yesterday’s story, another Diva Dirt reader — Jeff Thornton — sent in a report and picture from meeting Lita (Amy Dumas) on Saturday in Levittown, PA.

According to Jeff, Dumas said that she ‘may have one more good run’ in her.

Check out his report below:

Jillian Returning to the Ring on May 14th, Will Face Fellow Former Diva

6

Former WWE Diva, Jillian is set to return to the ring on May 14th against a fellow former WWE Diva and current TNA Knockout, Winter (Katie Lea).

The match takes in Brooklyn, NY and will be promoted by Family Wrestling Entertainment.

Allison Danger Issues Statement on Cindy Rogers’ Retirement

Allison Danger has issued a statement on Cindy Rogers’ retirement.

Danger will face Rogers in her retirement match at WSU’s Uncensored Rumble iPPV on June 25th. The match was requested by Rogers.

When I was first approached about being Cindy Roger’s final wrestling
match ever I was flattered. Honored even. But then I thought to
myself, “Who else would they ask?”. Let’s face it-there would be no
Cindy Rogers without Allison Danger. Join me for a quick walk down
memory lane (don’t worry, nerds, it is not a REAL walk. Lord knows
wrestling fans hate any form of real exercise):

Former TNA Knockout Returns at House Shows, Picks Up Wins Over Knockouts Champion

14

Original TNA Knockout, Traci Brooks returned to the company over the weekend on the house show loop, being pitted against Madison Rayne in open challenges.

Brooks picked up wins over the Knockouts Champion on Saturday and Sunday night.

Traci appeared on TNA Impact a few months back, which seemed to indicate a full-time return, but she has yet to make another appearance. No word yet if these recent house show appearances will lead to a TV return too.

Awesome Kong Going to FCW

44

It looks like Awesome Kong won’t be heading straight to the main roster as first thought.

A promo package for Kong aired on last night’s episode episode of FCW in Florida.

Thoughts: Before everyone gets up in arms about this, we must consider that fellow world-renowned wrestlers like Daniel Bryan, Kaval and Alberto Del Rio spent some time in FCW. WWE has their own in-ring style and I’m sure Kong going there is simply to pick up the ‘WWE way of doing things’.

Pro-Wrestling: EVE Results from This Past Weekend, Next Event Announced with Ice Ribbon

As noted yesterday, Britani Knight was crowned the first ever Pro-Wrestling: EVE Champion on Saturday night following a two-night tournament.

You can read full results from the tournament here.

The company also announced that its next event will take place at the Doncaster Dome on October 8th and 9th, and will be a cross-promotional affair with Japan’s Ice Ribbon promotion. Inter-promotional matches between stars of the two promotions will take place on both days. The weekend will also see matches from 1PW, plus WWE Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels will be on hand signing autographs.

More details here.

Unwrapped (April 10th, 2011): Michelle, Natalya, Rosita, Sarita & Snooki

25

Every week, following WWE.com and TNAWrestling.com’s photoshoot updates, we’ll take a look at the newest Diva and Knockout shoots and give you the opportunity to voice your opinions on them in a feature we lovingly call Unwrapped. Let’s unwrap this week’s eye candy, featuring Michelle McCool, Natalya, Rosita, Sarita and Snooki:

Michelle McCool
A backless dress and over-the-knee boots would overwhelm most Divas, but the statuesque Michelle pulls both off nicely. While the cutout in the back is interesting, the front of the dress is just as eye-catching. The pattern is really detailed, but its coloring keeps it from being too much. Michelle’s wild hair adds to the statement-making, often being tossed over a shoulder to give a better look at the back of the dress. Her poses seem to cater to it, from posing backwards in a chair to twisting around and looking back at the camera. It could look awkward, but its a testament to how far Michelle’s come, pose-wise, that it looks almost natural. She’s certainly got a fierce-ness to her now.

Natalya
We all know how much Natalya favors the color pink, but I can appreciate how she manages to mix it up a bit, going for different shades. Here she’s sporting a pale pink strapless top, which is quite detailed and looks great on her from the waist up. I can’t help but think, though, that a longer bottom (skirt or otherwise) would have complemented it better, allowing the top to take center stage. Instead, she’s showing a lot of leg and the two are competing for attention. It’s just not as sleek as it could be. I’m guessing with the blazer that we see in the third photo, the look would be more pulled together. Her poses are natural and smiley, with a bit of mystery thrown in here and there. It’s a good babyface shoot, but the overall cheeriness of it reminds me, in a roundabout way, of her more eccentric heel poses. I wonder if we’ll be seeing that evil laugh again anytime soon..

As well as sending in the picture above, Kevin noted that Amy told him to ‘keep his eyes peeled’ when asked when we’ll see her in the ring again.

Britani Knight Becomes First Ever Pro-Wrestling: EVE Champion

5

British wrestling prodigy Britani Knight became the first ever Pro-Wrestling: EVE Champion in Sudbury, Suffolk last night after winning a two night tournament.

Knight won the tournament despite having glandular fever. She wrote on her Twitter page: “new pro wrestling EVE champ yayyayayayyyy!!! Turns out I wrestled all weekend, not with tonsilitus but with glandular fever!!! Good win!!!”

Congrats to Britani!

In Pictures: Beth Phoenix and Gail Kim Take Part in THQ Superstar Challenge 2011

13

Thanks to photographer Steve Wright Jr, we have a look at this year’s THQ Superstar Challenge which took place during WrestleMania festivities last week. Big thanks to Steve for providing his awesome pictures.

The Glamazon, Beth Phoenix and Gail Kim were the two Divas who took part, with Beth making it to the semi-finals!

Recap: Trish Stratus on NBC’s Today Show

Tough Enough trainer, Trish Stratus appeared on NBC’s Today Show this morning. Our recap below:

SmackDown Redux (April 8th, 2011): Lay-Cool Need Some Dr. Phil In Their Lives

FINALLY… FINALLY! CRYSSI HAS COME BACK TO THE SMACKDOWN REDUX!!!!!! Don’t you just love it?! It’s been a minute since I’ve actually sat down to type one of these up. As you all know I had the privilege of going to SHIMMER two weeks ago and that was followed up by my first ever WrestleMania week experience. It would take me hours and hours to express my thoughts and feelings on everything that happened during those twelve glorious days I was away from home so I’m not going to bother. Instead, I’m going to jump right back into the swing of things and indulge all of you in another amazing Redux. I sure picked a heck of a week to return, mind you. The rarely seen Divas known as Beth Phoenix and Kelly Kelly were in action. Time to put those milk cartons away, kids. They’re no longer MIA. On this hot and steamy Friday night they teamed together to take on ‘Mania losers, Michelle McCool, and lovely Layla.

Lay-Cool kick us off tonight with their ring entrance. They talk amongst themselves as they make their way down the ramp and of course, we are reminded that Michelle was destroyed by Snooki sometime during that infamous ‘Mania match. Michelle is not thrilled with the replay and Booker T makes a comment that tension has been brewing between Lay-Cool since that match. Interesting.

Trish Stratus Confirms She Was Given ‘Cold Shoulder’ by John Morrison

101

Oh no he didn’t! Reports have run rife over the Internet this week that John Morrison gave his WrestleMania tag team partner, Trish Stratus, the ‘cold shoulder’ and vetoed ideas that she had for their work together.

Speaking to Sirius/XM’s Busted Open radio show today while in New York for a press day, Stratus confirmed that she was shunned by the Raw Superstar.

Stratus told the program:

Impact Write-Up (April 7th, 2011): Oh Snap! Madison Plows Through the Competiton…

Last week, during iMPACT!, we saw a singles match between two rival Knockouts, battling for the affection of a drugged out and clearly twitterpated, blonde Canadian. It saw a sad defeat and a declaration of rescue, made by a scorned best friend, set for vengeance. This week, our beloved Beautiful People are set to challenge for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships, in hopes of possibly rekindling the fire of their friendship. Will we see a positive reunion between the two blonde BFFs or has the sinister wicked witch finally ripped them apart for good? There is only one way to find out. Saddle up, boys and girls.

skip to the 6:30 minute mark.

Our first major glimpse of Knockouts action comes in the form of a backstage segment that shows Angelina Love, with her back to the camera. Winter is at her side, clearly stressed out and attempting to persuade Angelina, once again, that Velvet Sky does not care about her. She states that Velvet doesn’t have Angelina’s best interest at heart like she does. She tells Angelina that she loves her and will always be there for her. With a twirl of the chair, that damn mystery red cup rears its ugly head and Winter tells her new playtoy to drink her drink, it will calm her nerves. I’m pretty sure the only one needing calming of ther nerves here is Winter. Give that woman some prozac or something. Perhaps even a straight jacket will do the trick.

In Video: Trish Stratus Kicks Ass in ‘Bail Enforcers’ Trailer World Premiere!

18

Trish Stratus‘ official website has unleashed the world premiere of the trailer for ‘Bail Enforcers’, Trish’s debut movie, and let’s just say that the 7-time Women’s Champion hasn’t skipped a beat when it comes to dishing out a beatin’.

New FCW Divas Champion

A new FCW Divas Champion was crowned last night. Spoilers below:

Spoiler
Aksana became the new Divas Champion after defeating AJ for the belt.

“Aksana defeated AJ to become the new FCW Divas Champion with a spinebuster. The finish of the match was set up when Maxine got on the apron and AJ was too focused on Maxine and that allowed Aksana to hit the spinebuster for the win.” (Source: PWInsider)

‘WWE Superstars’ to Live On

9

After airing its last episode on WGN America last night, PWInsider reports that WWE Superstars will live on via the Internet.

The series will be broadcast via YouTube, according to the report.

I’m assuming it’ll also be on the WWE website.

Looks the Divas will continue to have an arena for lengthy matches!

WWE Stamps Out ‘Wrestling’

49

World Wrestling Entertainment is no longer.

The company is now simply going by its initials: WWE.

In a major rebranding announced today, the company revealed that it will be expanding outside of wrestling with plans for a cable network, and getting involved in things like live television and live event production, something which, it can’t be denied, WWE excels in.
