NXT Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic returns in February

For the now second year in a row, the women will be involved in their own Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. It will start in February.

In 2021, the women received their own tournament and the winners of the match received the trophy. There were eight teams to battle it out and in the finals it would be Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez to defeat Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart to take the win.

As a result of the win, they went on to challenge then-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. The match would end up in controversy which had General Manager William Regal introduce tag titles for the NXT brand. Kai and Gonazelz would be crowned as the inaugural NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions due to their tournament win. They would go on to lose the titles in the same night to Ember and Shotzi.

At the time of this writing, the number of teams or names of the competitors have not been announced.
