Tay Melo had reportedly requested her release.
According to Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly, Tay Melo reportedly requested her release from AEW back in 2025. Her release requested was denied. She had missed the majority of 2026 until returning briefly with her TayJay partner, Anna Jay. They longtime team had a few matches going after the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles.
Melo has not appeared again on screen since the start of June.
There has also been discussions of Melo’s husband Sammy Guevara and his status with the company.
Melo has been signed with AEW since 2020. She did have some time off due to having her first child with Guevara. She has previously worked with WWE, primarily in NXT, and has appeared in AAA and STARDOM.
