Report: Damage CTRL Quietly Disbanded

Damage CTRL is technically no more.

Bayley’s exit of the group, Dakota Kai’s release, and various injuries have essentially quietly disbanded the group. In a report by Fightful Select, the decision to disband the group happened at the beginning of May when Kai was released. Until Kairi Sane’s return, and Asuka’s about to happen, the group left only IYO SKY.

Since Sane’s return, she has had interactions with SKY, but it seems to be more as friendly singles stars than still a stable. With Asuka returning, Fightful asked if that meant the group still had any potential to continue. They were told as of this time that creative was developed, it wasn’t.

Fightful was told that this doesn’t mean combinations of the group couldn’t end up teaming when they’re all fully back, and that the name could eventually be revived.

The three remaining members of the group do have their own tag team history. The Sky Pirates – SKY and Sane and the Kabuki Warriors – Auska and Sane.

While a stable totaling five, there was a lot of success –

  • WWE Women’s Champion – IYO SKY
  • Women’s World Champion – IYO SKY (current)
  • Money in the Bank 2023 – IYO SKY
  • Royal Rumble 2024 – Bayley
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions – Asuka & Sane (1), Kai & SKY (2)
  • IYO SKY because the 10th women’s Triple Crown and the 7th Grand Slam Champion

SKY, Kai, and Bayley were the original three members while Asuka and Sane joined later.
