Report: Latest News On NXT Europe

News on NXT Europe stirred up in May by PWInsider hinting that it was still in the works and could be launched in late 2025. In 2022 NXT UK closed its doors and at the time, NXT Europe was mentioned as a replacement. Things have cooled off on this in the past few years. Now, several talents that Fightful has spoken to don’t see NXT Europe happening in the near future.

Fightful Select has the most recent update and here we go:

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has spoken to talent and promoters across Europe about the possibility of NXT Europe launching by the end of 2025. In terms of the recent WWE UK tryout, the talent we have spoken with that took part were not told any further details about the brand other than that it was ‘still coming’. While some talent were signed and others were told they’d get more looks in the future, we did not hear of anything to suggest the tryout was linked to NXT Europe. One former NXT UK talent we spoke with noted that this has been the company line from WWE when they have enquired about the project since NXT UK’s closure. Another former NXT UK talent noted that ‘they will believe it when they see it’ regarding NXT Europe’s launch.

Some promoters in Europe that we spoke with believe that the recently reported movement with NXT Europe could be related to AEW establishing a base with their trips to Wembley Stadium and their upcoming Dynamite taping and Forbidden Door pay-per-view. While there is hesitation from some promoters we have spoken with, several promoters are firm about the idea of talent being signed not being ‘the end of the world’ as one promoter told us. Another pointed out the scene did produce stars once again following NXT UK and Covid-19, and was firm in their belief that the scene would do so again should the scene lose several of its top stars to NXT Europe.

From talent’s perspective across Europe, the idea of the new NXT brand possibly launching this year was met with positivity, as several pointed to the platform the brand would present to the stars of the continent, as well as putting more money in signed talent pockets. One thing that several wrestlers stated would need to happen for NXT Europe to work would be an increase in pay from the previous NXT UK contracts, where talent were encouraged to have a second job. In particular, talent in the French scene are said to have had concerns about the possibility of the scene losing its top stars as the scene is hitting its hottest period.

It is worth also noting that several talents we spoke to still do not believe that NXT Europe is coming in the near future, particularly amongst talent based in the UK and France.
