The former AEW Women’s World Champion, Mariah May, is officially in WWE. She made her debut on the June 3 episode of NXT by addressing the NXT women’s locker room and the NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne.
Fightful Select has the details of her signing, including that she has signed a multi-year deal with the promotion. A number of NXT women’s talent have been moved up to the main roster as of late, including Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer. These moves were in anticipation of May’s debut. The specifics of May’s debut were kept very quiet. The word was relayed in gorilla to the talent just before the segment started.
Those in AEW expected May to head to WWE for at least the past number of months. Fightful has heard that AEW had interest in retaining her, but the offer that was presented is unknown at this time. May doesn’t seem to have departed AEW on bad terms.
NXT did not mention May’s name when she debuted. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has heard that she will be getting an altered name, but haven’t heard what it will be yet.
