Rewind: Taryn Terrell vs. Gail Kim Slammiversary 2013

Rewinding the clock back to 2013, TNA aired Slammiversary XI, and the rivalry between Taryn Terrell and Gail Kim culminated into a Last Knockout Standing match.

The feud between these two Knockouts started in early 2013 at Genesis when Terrell was the Knockouts’ referee. Terrell made a bad call in a Gauntlet match which led to the two getting physical which cost Kim a shot at the TNA Knockouts Championship.

In March at Lockdown, Terrell would attack Kim once again and cost her the championship match she had with Velvet Sky. Shortly after, Terrell would be fired as a referee but made an in-ring competitor.

The Last Knockout Standing Match would go on to become a fan favorite. The closing moments of the match had Terrell barely make it to her feet by the count of 10. The two Knockouts were battling on the ramp as Kim tried to keep Terrell down with perhaps a piledriver. She wasn’t able to execute the move as Terrell countered and hit a bulldog out of nowhere launching both Knockouts off of the ramp and crashing down to the ringside floor.

As ODB was officiating the match, she counted to 10 but Terrell would get to her feet at the last second possible to win the match. The two would go on to have one more match together in a ladder bout to determine the number one contender for the Knockouts Title. Kim would win that final match.

Currently, Terrell is working with NWA. She was back in action this week for the season nine premiere for its weekly Powerrr show. She went up against a debuting Taya Valkyrie who earned herself a victory over the weekend at the NWA Alwayz Ready event against Natalia Markova.

Terrell’s last match was taped in February where she faced Kamille for the NWA World Women’s Championship at Powerrr Trip. Valkyrie defeated Terrell with the Road to Valhalla. You can watch that match by clicking here at the time stamp of 16:20.

This year’s Slammiversary takes place this weekend on June 19 as the first Queen of the Mountain match will take place. Tasha Steelz will be defending her title against Jordynne Grace, Chelsea Green, Mia YIm, and Deonna Purrazzo.
