A former foe of Giulia has spoken out about her rise in WWE. Former NXT talent Sarray, who is known as Sareee in the Japanese wrestling scene, spoke with Tokyo Sports about a familiar face.
Sareee faced Giulia to decide the inaugural champion in the Marigold promotion before Giulia made the leap to WWE. Saree defeated Giulia, becoming the first-ever Marigold World Champion, a title she has since lost to Utami Hayashishita.
“She is a great inspiration. Honestly, I thought that’s typical of Giulia. I don’t think anyone expected her to make the main roster so soon. But I think that’s how determined Giulia is and how hard she’s working,” said Sareee while speaking about Giulia.
Sareee reinforces that she knows how difficult it can be in WWE:
“It was a short time, but I know how hard it is in the WWE.”
Giulia made her debut in WWE on the NXT brand in September of last year. Since then, she went on to become the NXT Women’s Champion. She is currently on the SmackDown brand and will be participating in her first Money in the Bank ladder match this Saturday.
