Survivor Series WarGames Preview & Predictions: 11.26.22

We’ve reached what is understood as the last premium live event for WWE of the year. Survivor Series has a different feel this year as WarGames has not been introduced to the main roster. A total of 10 women will take part in the match with five of them entering this match for the first time in their careers.

The full card reads as follows –

SmackDown Women’s Championship

Ronda Rousey (c) w/Shayna Baszler vs. Shotzi

WarGames

Team Bianca (Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim, and Becky Lynch) vs. Team Damage CTRL (Bayley, IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, Rhea Ripley, and Nikki Cross)

First, let’s talk about the SmackDown Women’s Championship bout. Shotzi won a number one contender six-pack challenge a few weeks ago to earn this championship match. This will be Shotzi’s first shot at the title on a premium live event since joining the main roster.

The champion, Ronda Rousey, has solidified her friendship with Shayna Baszler and the two have been inseparable for the past number of weeks. Shotzi did get a win over Baszler two weeks ago, but on this week’s SmackDown, Baszler and Rousey took out the one friend Shotzi had – Raquel Rodriguez.

Now, Shotzi is heading into the match with having to look over her shoulder for Baszler as well as facing the Baddest Woman on the Planet. The mountain is high for Shotzi to climb.

Predictions:

NICK: I am happy that we are getting Shotzi in this role even if it is an obvious outcome. I do hope with Raquel seemingly out of the picture after last night’s SmackDown that someone does come to at least even the odds for Shotzi. Perhaps a Tegan return? Or Emma maybe as they have talked backstage. I don’t see Ronda losing here with the added Shayna threat.

Winner: Ronda Rousey

COLBY: I don’t know what I thought the SmackDown Women’s title match would be for Survivor Series, but I did not anticipate Shotzi in the spot. With that being said, I’m very glad she’s getting this opportunity after being directionless for over a year. I have little doubt about how the finish will go, but I believe this will be a step in the right direction for the tank driver. Here’s hoping they put together a solid match and have plenty of time to pull it off. (written prior to Nov. 25 SmackDown)

Winner: Ronda Rousey

GARY: I’m really hoping this is a breakout moment for Shotzi and she gets a chance to deliver in this match. All goes well, she will come out looking like a winner even though the title is not going anywhere. Ronda will win with Shayna and Raquel playing some role in the end with the build towards Ronda vs Raquel beginning. (written prior to Nov. 25 SmackDown)

Winner: Ronda Rousey

Now onto the WarGames match. This will likely and rightfully be the last chapter in the Damage CTRL vs. Bianca, Asuka, and Alexa rivalry. They have been fighting since SummerSlam and it does feel like time to move forward for all. With that being said, it has been the Raw Women’s Champion Belair who has been the one to hold tight to her title and come out victorious in the big matches against Bayley. She has already defeated Bayley in both a ladder match and a last woman standing match.

How will this chapter end?

Predictions:

NICK: I was solely behind Team Damage CTRL finally taking this big win, however, Becky as the fifth for Team Bianca does throw a wrench in my prediction. However, I am still going to stick with Damage CTRL because I feel as though someone is turning on Team Bianca. Likely Alexa who has seemed off ever since the Bray Wyatt stuff has been happening around her.

Winners: Team Damage CTRL

COLBY: The booking leading up to this moment has been far from perfect, yet I’m ready to see everyone step in this epic cage match and kill it. Damage CTRL have gone back and forth with their success as Dakota and IYO are two-time tag champs, but Bayley has not been able to take the Raw Women’s title from Belair. As much as I wanted Sasha back, I’m sure Becky Lynch will return and finally unite with Belair’s team after what unfolded at SummerSlam. When it comes to the winners though, that’s where I’m torn. I think Rhea Ripley needs a strong showing here. Perhaps having her win it is exactly what we need to help move Bayley away from the title so that Ripley can be one step closer. I’ll go with Team Damage CTRL. (written prior to Nov. 25 SmackDown)

Winners: Team Damage CTRL with Ripley getting the win

GARY:

Regardless of who the fifth member is, I am calling a Team Bayley win here with Ripley being the one to secure the pinfall. It’s time to bring her back in to the Women’s Division properly and securing the pinfall, most likely over Mia Yim, can lead to her facing off against Bianca Belair in the feud we’ve been waiting for. Whoever the fifth member ends up being will possibly enter into a feud with Damage CTRL going forward. (written prior to Nov. 25 SmackDown)

Winners: Team Damage CTRL
