At this Saturday’s Bound for Glory event, the first Digital Media Champion will be determined in a six-person match. Tenille Dashwood qualified after defeating Alisha in a match that aired earlier this week. In a formal post from IMPACT, Dashwood … Read more

Madison Rayne makes her return to IMPACT. Back in January, Rayne announced that she was leaving IMPACT and retiring from both in-ring and from her position as a commentator. IMPACT! 2021 Slammiversary: Preview & Predictions

Alright Knockout fans, we’ve made it to Slammiversary.

IMPACT! currently has three matches involving the Knockouts planned for the event. The matches are as follows:

Pre-Show – Knockouts Tag Team Championship

Fire ‘N Flava (c) vs. Havok & Rosemary

Mixed Tag Team Match

Tenille Dashwood & Brian Myers vs. Matt Cardona and TBA

Knockouts Championship

Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. TBA – Mystery Opponent

Fire ‘N Flava (c) vs. Havok & Rosemary for the Knockouts Tag Team Championships

After spending some time trying to best each other to get to the Knockouts Championship, Havok and Rosemary realized that they may be better off together. Havok consistently having the back of Rosemary has led to this partnership forming and has made Rosemary now wanting Havok to fully commit and join Decay.

Fire ‘N Flava has been against their opponents getting a title shot feeling they haven’t earned it. Since then, Rosemary & Havok have had a chance to prove they are on the same page and defeated Kimber Lee and Su Yung to become the number one contenders. This match was recently moved to the pre-show.

Havok holds a singles victory over Tasha Steelz heading into this match and Rosemary defeated Kiera Hogan in June.

Predictions:

Nick: This one I can see go either way and now that it has been moved to the pre-show it makes me doubt that Havok & Rosemary will win. However, I feel as though the push and focus have been more on Havok & Rosemary over Fire ‘N Flava so I will still be with them as the winners and new champions.

John: Huge mark for Rosemary and she and Havock make a great team. Fire ‘N Flava has been good champions but it is time to take the titles to the dark side. Rosemary and Havok as new champions

Tenille Dashwood & Brian Myers vs. Matt Cardona & TBA

This match certainly was a last-minute surprise. On this past week’s IMPACT, Dashwood said hello to her real-life ex- Matt Cardona, and not in the nicest way. After hitting a low blow on Cardona, Dashwood was revealed to be the person that Brian Myers needed to help take down his former lifelong friend. Although this was a random booking, it doesn’t even need a build up due to the history of the three involved.

What is the wildcard here is who will Cardona pick as his partner? Since this match was announced, Cardona has spent a lot of time on Twitter saying who his opponent will NOT be. Most recently confirming that it will indeed not be Vickie Guerrero.

Predictions:

Nick: With Chelsea Green showing up to ROH and announcing that she still has about a month left of rehabbing her arm, her being her real-life fiance’s partner seems less likely. That is unless she is playing it up and she really is ready to get back in the ring. I am guessing that Taylor Wilde will return as Cardona’s mystery partner based on her friction with Tenille prior to her time off TV. I have Cardona and whoever his partner is winning.

John: If it’s not Chelsea Green what are we even doing here? I fully expect to see the ‘Hot Mess’ return to IMPACT alongside Cardona to take out Dashwood and Brian Myers.

Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. Mystery Opponent – Knockouts Championship

This match has the most buzz surrounding it and Purrazzo has done a wonderful job building up the match essentially by herself. She has had the help of Gail Kim and Scott D’Amore to punch home the excitement, but without someone across the ring from her yet, she has had to do all the work.

Gail has told her to get prepared for the fight of her life and that this match will not only change our world but Deonna’s as well. Those words alone make it sound like her opponent is going to be tough to beat. Purrazzo has gone through the entire Knockouts Division (other than Taylor Wilde) and since Slammiversary last year she is a two-time champion and seems to be unstoppable.

D’Amore has continued to tease recent WWE releases as being possible opponents for Purrazzo, but only when the bell is about to ring will we truly find out.

Predictions:

Nick: Deonna will retain. Regardless of the opponent, Deonna will, and for a few reasons. One, because of her future bookings which require her to still be a champion, and two I feel they will have her surpass the longest reign held by Taya Valkyrie. Now, this doesn’t take away from a great match that we hopefully are about to watch. Chelsea was my go-to choice, but as already mentioned that seems less likely now. Mickie James makes the most logical choice here. The rumor is it will not be someone currently on the Knockouts Roster.

John: Deonna is easily the best Knockouts Champion in years and as Nick says will retain. For the mystery opponent, I’m hoping for someone way out of left field like Jazzy Gabert, Serena Deeb or even NWA World Women’s Champion Kamille accompanied by Mickie James.

Along with Mickie and Chelsea, Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay, formerly known as The IIconics, are two more women who many are hoping to see at this event.

Tenille Dashwood announced in a Mixed Tag Team Match for Slammiversary

Slammiversary is this Saturday and we have another match with Knockouts involved added to the card. Grace & Ellering mend their partnership; Knockouts Tag Team Title picture heating up

Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering have had a rocky road when it comes to their friendship and tag team partnership.

Ever since they lost the Knockouts Tag Team Championships almost as quickly as they won them, the two haven’t been on the same page. Last week, Jazz returned to try and mend their friendship and left the ball in the hands of Grace on how they wanted to move forward.

It appears this week she gave her answer and had Ellering’s back.

Ellering took on Tenille Dashwood in a singles match. Dashwood has been one factor that has been trying to drive a wedge between Ellering and Grace by trying to have Ellering join her and Kaleb with a K. Ellering picked up the much needed win after countering a sunset flip found Dashwood with her shoulders on the match and a count of three.

Post match, Dashwood and Kaleb went after Ellering as Jazz tried her best to help. Grace then rushed to the ring to help clear it out and embraced her tag partner. Do we think this is genuine, or is this just part of a bigger plan for Grace?

Speaking of tag teams, the Knockouts Tag Team picture is heating up.

With Slammiversary just a few weeks away, Rosemary & Havok are looking to prove their newfound tag team is the team to beat. On this week’s IMPACT, they brought this up to Scott D’Amore who said he would take their request for a Knockouts Tag Team Championship match under consideration. He didn’t have to think too hard once the champions Fire ‘N Flava tried to thwart Rosemary & Havok’s request saying that they are barely a team and never earned a championship opportunity. All of this despite Rosemary picking up a win on Kiera Hogan last week.

D’Amore has made it official that Rosemary & Havok will be taking on Kimber Lee & Susan next week. Lee faced her former ally, Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, on BTI. Purrazzo continued to dominate and much like she took out Susan last week she defeated Lee this week.

Susan and Kimber were seen backstage during IMPACT discussing having to move on from Purrazzo. Lee says there are still the Knockouts Tag Team Championships in their sights and worst-case scenario they have a backup plan. Susan questioned what the backup plan is and Lee says – Su Yung.

Susan then asked “who’s that?”

Dashwood picks up another controversial win; Purrazzo seemingly finished with Kimber & Susan

Tenille Dashwood continues to stack up wins as a singles competitor despite her obsession with wanting a tag team partner. Kaleb with a K continues to be the decision-maker however in Dashwood’s matches as he is the ultimate distractor. This week’s IMPACT was no different.

Dashwood took on Rachael Ellering this week. Backstage Ellering was speaking with her tag team partner Jordynne Grace about the rocky road they have been having ever since they lost the tag titles. Grace is frustrated and upset because the word around the locker room is that she only won those titles because of Rachael.

Prior to the match, Dashwood and Kaleb tried one more time to have Ellering join them by giving her a t-shirt. Ellering dismissed it and said she just wants to wrestle. Grace did not accompany her to ringside. Grace lost to Dashwood this past weekend at Against All Odds.

In a very competitive match, Ellering had Dashwood right where she wanted her to get the win, but Kaleb caused the distraction with his ring light. Dashwood then executed a crucifix pin to get the victory.

This was the only Knockouts match of the night but we did see two segments. The first was Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo sharing her frustrations with Kimber Lee and Susan. Purrazzo says that the duo needed to prove to everyone and most importantly her that they deserve to stand by her side. They fail to do so time and time again and were unable to capture the tag titles at Against All Odds.

Before storming off, Purrazzo says she is done with the both of them as Susan calls her a typical degenerate millennial.

Last but certainly not least, we see the Knockouts Tag Team Champions backstage. Fire ‘N Flava were looking around to find people to ask them who the best tag team of all time is. They came across two employees who couldn’t answer them. The first was sweeping the floor and said it was his first day while the second was taking out the trash.

As Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz were arguing with the employee who was just trying to do his job and take out the garbage, Rosemary and Havok showed up. The newly formed pair made a statement by throwing Steelz up against the wall and dumping Hogan into the bin that was carrying the trash. As the tag champs tried to put themselves together, they found a very specific trash bag.

The bag had the name “Mickie” written on it. This was taking a jab at WWE who sent Mickie James her belongings in a trash bag when she was released from the company in April. Could we be seeing Hardcore Country making an IMPACT return as well?

At Against All Odds, the championships stayed put with Deonna Purrazzo still being Knockouts Champion and the tag titles still around the waist of Fire ‘N Flava. Chaos breaks out in the Knockouts division; Former tag champs battle one another

This week’s IMPACT certainly had the Knockouts division going after one another. The advertised match for tonight’s show had Tenille Dashwood in singles action against Kiera Hogan.

Dashwood teamed up with Taylor Wilde at Under Siege and the duo defeated Susan and Kimber Lee. Wilde is still not feeling being in a tag team and has one goal since coming out of retirement and back in the ring for the first time in a decade. That goal is to become Knockouts Champion. Wilde is also not about cheating and both Dashwood and Kaleb with a K have proven that’s how they roll.

Dashwood let Wilde know about her one-one-one match against Hogan and said if she is victorious that may open up them as a team to go after the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Although Wilde still wasn’t on board, Dashwood would go on to face Hogan and come out with a victory.

After the match, chaos erupted. Tasha Steelz attacked Dashwood behind as she was trying to celebrate. Kaleb would then get involved to try and even the odds. Things then began to break down as Susan, Kimber Lee, and Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo rushed to the ring. It then became a five-on-one scenario as the five women in the ring were attacking Dashwood.

Just when we think that Dashwood doesn’t have any allies in the division, out comes Wilde. She went right after Purrazzo to signify she is coming for the title. The numbers advantage was still too much which caused Havok to make her way out. Havok recently lost to Purrazzo and was unable to capture the title at Under Siege.

Lastly, Rosemary and the rest of Decay made their way out to the stage to end the segment to show their solidarity with Havok, Wilde, and Dashwood. Purrazzo and the rest of the gang ran for safety.

With the majority of the Knockouts division partaking in this segment, the women were not done for the evening. Jordynne Grace had a one-on-one match against her friend and tag team partner, Rachael Ellering.

As the match goes on, Ellering begins to build momentum. She hits a jumping European uppercut and follows it up with a senton to get a near fall. After avoiding a Vader Bomb by Grace, both women exchange pin attempts until Ellering finally gets the three count for the win.

After the match, the two embrace. The team lost the Knockouts Tag Team Titles at Under Siege after only holding the gold for a few weeks. Grace was the one to ask for this one-on-one match in an attempt to get things back on track. She Tweeted after the match that she is 100% fine…not sure if that is convincing.

Lastly, there was an updated promo for the upcoming Slammiversary event that takes place in July. Just like IMPACT did last year, they put together a promo of the event teasing names of recently released WWE talent. In that included Chelsea Green, Mickie James, and The IIconics. Previously only showing the Australian flag to hint at The IIconics, we now have the “II” symbol showing up in the vignette.

Jazz gives retirement speech and promises to get Jordynne Grace a new tag team partner for Rebellion

Jazz officially gave her retirement speech on tonight’s IMPACT.

After losing to Deonna Purrazzo at last weekend’s Hardcore Justice event, Jazz promised that she would end her career officially. The match was a Career vs. Title match and the veteran Jazz was unable to grab one last title before she took her final bow.

She starts off in the middle of the ring with Jordynne Grace by her side for an emotional moment. The Phenom starts by commending Purrazzo for her win and said that she isn’t just the present of professional wrestling but the future. Jazz commends Grace as well and says the following before she was interrupted by the Knockouts Tag Team Champions, Fire ‘N Flava.

“Coming to IMPACT, hoping that I was going to have one more title run, but that didn’t happen at Hardcore Justice. You know, going into this match I knew Deonna was going to give me a run for my money, but still, I felt I had one more run. I felt that fire that I had 15 years ago, but Deonna being a true champion that you are, I know now that you are the present and the future of women wrestling. You know, Jordynne, when you gave me that call and asked me to come in and tag with you, we knew we were going to come out victorious, which we did. We got a few wins but we actually had those Knockouts tag team titles on our minds, and I just want to thank you for even considering me tagging with you. You’re the truth, girl. You’re future is bright and I mean it. Jordynne, I want to thank you and the family of IMPACT for welcoming me with open arms. I’ve never had the opportunity to work with this company through my twenty-plus years but these last few months, you talk about going out with a bang, sister, I went out with a bang.”

Fire ‘N Flava make their way out to the stage saying that it is about time that Jazz retires. An impromptu non-title match was made between the tag champs against Jazz & Grace. Jazz picked up the win for her team and had her hand raised for the last time in an IMPACT ring. After the match, she finished her retirement speech. She thanked the fans for their love and continuous support throughout the years. The IMPACT roster came out to the ring to give her a round of applause and give her a proper send-off.

After the speech was over, Fire ‘N Flava was backstage and fuming that they were forced to have a match when they weren’t even prepared. Scott D’Amore said he was tired of them always being disrespectful. He booked them to defend their Knockouts Tag Team Titles for Rebellion and originally said their opponents would be Jazz & Grace.

Once the champs stormed off, Jazz & Grace approached D’Amore. He said it was the least he could do for Jazz to give them this title match. Although she appreciates it greatly, Jazz says she has to honor her word and as a result of her loss against Purrazzo she must say goodbye to her in-ring career. However, she has the perfect partner for Grace and they will face the champs at Rebellion. D’Amore says he trusts that whoever she has in mind is a good fit and the match is set.

Who do you think will end up being Grace’s opponent?!

Will it be someone unexpected or perhaps will it be the returning Taylor Wilde. For week’s we have seen vignettes progressively showing the return of former two-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion Wilde. Tonight the most recent one finally showed Wilde with her saying “Let’s get Wilde!”

Tenille Dashwood is the current number one contender for the Knockouts Title and she will be facing Purrazzo at Rebellion. Dashwood ushered in a brand new talk show named All About Me. The talk show is a chance for her “guests” to be the “host” and ask her any questions they see fit.

Her first “host” was Gia Miller. Before Miller could get her question out, Dashwood interrupted her. She said she knows she is going to ask her how is she so sure that she is going to win the Knockouts Championship. She says she is going to win because she is good at everything and she started the women’s revolution. Dashwood feels that it is ironic that she hasn’t won the Knockouts Title yet. She has faced Purrazzo outside of IMPACT and has never lost to her.

Rebellion is set to take place on April 25.

What did you think of this week’s IMPACT? Who do you think Jazz will find to be Jordynne’s partner for Rebellion? Do you think Tenille will become the next Knockouts Champion? Leave your thoughts below.
