Top 5 favourites for the women’s Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble is only a few days away and things haven’t exactly been that exciting in the lead-up to the second biggest (and my personal favourite) PPV of the year. As of now, there are only four confirmed competitors across the three brands, which doesn’t really give us any indication as to who will be this year’s victor.

So I thought I’d try to inject a little oomph by picking my top five favourites for you to agree/disagree with. I’ve tried to apply some logical thinking to my picks along with some favouritism and fantasy booking for good measure.

Who is going to be pointing at the WrestleMania sign after winning the third women’s Royal Rumble? Let’s find out.

Charlotte Flair – The Safe Choice

For most of 2019, Charlotte took a back seat to Becky Lynch. Charlotte is the most decorated women’s wrestler in WWE and not by accident. ‘The Queen’ will be 11-time women’s champion at some point and the easiest way to get Charlotte back into the title picture is to have her win at the Royal Rumble and challenge Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

If this is how things are to pan out, yes it would be the safe option but one that would work very well. Flair and Lynch have great chemistry both in and out of the ring and seeing them go one-on-one at WrestleMania for the title certainly wouldn’t be the worst outcome.

Likelihood 7/10
