Winners & Losers: AEW Fyter Fest Night 2 – 07.08.20

Night 2 of AEW Fyter Fest saw Nyla Rose in action against an unannounced opponent. In the discussion post, Rose dropped a hint as to how many opponents she would be facing rather than who.

The two opponents would be revealed as AEW Dark regulars, Kenzie Page and KiLynn King. The duo would be taking on Nyla Rose in a Two-on-One Handicap Match.

The match started with Rose flattening Page easily with a fierce body slam and big leg drop.

King would enter the fray and fall victim to Nyla’s brute force as quick as her partner had. Rose would decimate both opponents and finish them off by power bombing Page into King for the victory.

After the match, Rose would announce that she has hired a manager. Managers bring success and will ensure she will recapture the AEW Women’s Championship very soon.

The match was essentially a squash to once again make Nyla Rose look like a monster. As to Rose’s manager, we will have to wait and find out.

Earlier in the night, Big Swole was served for “kidnapping” Baker two weeks ago and denied access to the arena. Britt Baker was in attendance watching from her security guarded “Roles Royce” accompanied as always by Reba/Rebel.

Swole would find a way into the arena to confront Baker. During the confrontation, Swole would viciously attack Baker with a piece of paper causing severe nasal injuries in the process.

This was good fun and allows Baker to be one of the best things in AEW, while continuing her feud with Big Swole.

Lets get to the winners and losers of the week.

Winner: Nyla Rose

Rose looked great here. She was super strong, super dominant and remains the monster of AEW’s women’s division. Rose continues to improve and her ability to throw around her opponents with ease never fails to impress. The addition of a manager is a very good idea. It will give Rose a new aspect to her character and hopefully to the entire women’s division.

Losers: Kenzie Page & KiLynn King

Page and King did exactly what they were supposed to do. But a night of being Nyla Rose’s punching bag is not a winning experience at all.

Final Thoughts

No way the entertainment of last week’s match but we did see progression in two storylines/feuds within the women’s division. As usual, there was nowhere near enough emphasis on the women. This really needs to change and change soon before the division becomes less of an afterthought than it already is.
