One week from Sunday, we are on the road to Double or Nothing! But tonight on AEW Dynamite, we set the stage for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament as things heat up in the division.
The first round brackets for the Owen Hart Cup were announced and feature talents from AEW, Ring of Honor, Stardom, and CMLL.
Matches include:
- Persephone vs. Hazuki
- Willow Nightingale vs Alex Windsor
- Mina Shirakawa vs Athena
- Skye Blue vs Sareee
Tonight in Trios action, Hikaru Shida teams up with The Brawling Birds, Jamie Hayter, and NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, Alex Windsor, to take on the Triangle of Madness, Skye Blue, Julia Hart, and the AEW Women’s World Champion, Thekla. Come Double or Nothing, Thekla will defend her title against Shida, Hayter, and Kris Statlander. But tonight, our world champion looks to get more toxic with the entire roster.
Blue starts the match by attacking Hayter from behind, but The Triangle of Madness are sent out of the ring quickly as they eat ten punches. Blue and Windsor fight on the barricade, but The Brawling Birds send her into the apron. Thekla goes flying as she takes both the birds out.
Shida tags in and suplexes Hart right into Thekla, but soon finds herself surrounded by the Triangle of Madness. The Brawling Birds save Shida by forcing the tag in. They look to kill two birds with one stone, but Thekla puts a stop to it with the title belt and gets her team disqualified.
Shida leaves The Brawling Birds to fend for themselves, but Mina Shirakawa, Thunder Rosa, and the TBS Champion, Willow Nightingale, come to save the day.
