WWE Elimination Chamber Predictions: Beth Phoenix vs Tamina Snuka

The WWE Divas Championship is on the line tonight as Beth Phoenix defends against second generation star Tamina Snuka. Who will come out on top in the battle of the Diva giants?

Bobby: This is certainly the most interesting, refreshing match up we’ve seen in a while from WWE when it comes to pay per views. On one hand, I would love for Beth to head into WrestleMania as Divas Champion, but honestly, I really want her to face Kharma and I don’t think that match needs a title. It’s sort of like how The Rock vs. John Cena doesn’t need a belt on the line to have meaning, and I think fans would respond to Beth/Kharma whether the title is there or not. You could have Tamina win and perhaps include two Divas matches with the other being a multi-woman tag, but I don’t think WWE would put two on the card. To shorten this up, I could actually see it go either way given how much they seem to be behind Tamina as of late and the fact they love to surprise people, but I honestly see Beth Phoenix retaining.

Cryssi: This victory belongs to no one else besides Beth Phoenix. As much as I might not like it, she will be the Divas Champion forever, and Tamina is not going to be the one that takes it away from her. In fact, I’m so confident that Beth will pull out the victory tonight, I made a bet with Melanie weeks ago over it before the match was even made official. If you listen to Diva Dirt Live, you know that I put my digits on the line. Should Tamina somehow recreate the 1984 Miracle on Ice, except in the ring, then R-Truth gets my number at Axxess. But that’s not going to happen because I don’t make bets I can’t win. That said, I’m staying far away from the Elimination Chamber tonight because should the unthinkable happen, I damn sure don’t want to be there to see it in person. Surely Tamina won’t win… right? No there’s no way… Oh God. Excuse me while I go freak out.

Erin: As surprised as I am by Tamina’s sudden mega-push, I’m very sure that she’s not slated for the WrestleMania match. Even though they’re booking this as a “they’ve met their match” kind of bout, I don’t think this is a feud that could have legs all the way to April. It’s nice to see Tamina get her due, and it will be interesting to see them go head-to-head, but it just doesn’t have headlining potential. So, I think Tamina will prove to be a worthy opponent, but Beth Phoenix will retain her title and start on her WrestleMania feud with whoever may cross her path next. I’m willing to bet that person’s name starts with a K, and she’s not a blonde.

Katelyn: Even though Tamina’s been on a roll as of late, and I’m really enjoying her push, I think Beth Phoenix will win this one. I’m guessing they definitely want to do Beth vs. Kharma at some point, and the title being up for grabs would only make the match sweeter.

Melanie: Firstly, it’s refreshing to see Tamina being given the spotlight because if I’m honest, given WWE’s track record, I never thought it’d happen. Kudos to WWE, they have actually put their weight behind her and I’m excited for her for the rest of 2012. However, do I think she’ll win the Divas Title tonight? No. The recent emphasis on Beth being undefeated and having no competition seems to be leading to Kharma returning and challenging her at WrestleMania 28. If that’s the case, it makes sense to pit Beth against Tamina, who, like her, has a larger stature and is one of the more powerful looking Divas on the roster. So when Beth defeats Tamina, she’ll look strong going into that eventual match with Kharma, which will hopefully happen at ‘Mania. If I could book the finish of this match, I’d have Tamina nearly put Beth away with the Samoan drop, go up top for the Superfly Splash and then come crashing down only for Beth to roll out of the way. With Tamina nursing her ribs, Beth would sneak up behind her and hit the Glam Slam for the win. However, before Beth could celebrate, Kharma’s music would hit and she’d stare down Beth from the ramp way. That’s just how I’d do it. Whatevs. Anyhoo, I’m going with Beth Phoenix winning tonight.

Who do you think will win tonight at Survivor Series?
