Life after WWE for Ariane Andrew, formerly known as Cameron, continues to be exciting and unpredictable. With a new role on MTV’s ‘The Challenge’ she’s in the spotlight on her own terms.

In a series of videos, the Miami Herald asks her about her latest endeavor, her time in WWE, dancing, and more.

In the latest Challenge season celebs compete against members of the franchise in hopes of donating $150,000 to a charity of their choice. Her charity of choice is Black Girls Rock. Listen to the first part of the interview below:

She’s currently working on acting and says she’s determined to break barriers. With her charity her goal is to encourage young youth to stay resilient, focused and driven because the ‘Sky has no Limits.’

In part two of the interview she reflects on how her time with WWE only made her stronger. Listen below:

She said her time in WWE made her more resilient. It taught her how to stay grounded when being pulled in all different directions. Though she was a part of Total Divas as well and is now involved with The Challenge she says she does not want to be typecast for that type of work.

Her favorite WWE memories include her debut with Brodus Clay, competing for the Divas Championship, and her triple threat match with Natalya and Alicia Fox. Listen to the rest of the interview below:

In addition to these recent interviews Ariane is keeping her fans updated via twitter about her latest projects. She recently posted a video of her training for something and hinting at a possible in ring return:

And in an interview with OK! Magazine she talks about who she keeps in touch with from Total Divas and more:

What do you think of Ariane’s latest endeavors? Are you watching The Challenge? Do you want to see her back in the ring? Sound off in the comments below.

  • KellyAJNaomiRoyce#Slay

I miss Cameron so much. They released her for such a stupid reason and she was slowly improving in the ring, I hate it when ppl leave WWE then stop wrestling completely

    • Nun Ya

I know!! I want her in Lucha Underground soooo bad! all the women their are like so experienced and what not she could be the bitchy heel the crowd hates and chants “You can’t wrestle!” even though she can. They could really shape her into a top tier heel there.

  • Ollie Roche

I cringe every time an interview become a long conversation about the bella twins.

  • Robann

They dropped the ball with Cam. Seriously. She was increasingly getting better in the ring, her deciding to go back down to NXT was the best thing she could’ve done. Sucks that she got released for a seemingly petty reason.

    • Chargod Flair #5x

Well they dropped the ball with emma which is a much bigger deal imo so looking back Cameron’s case is very minuscule. management tried warning Cameron that if she went down to NXT she could be risking her career… and she STILL went. Like girrrrl you basically asked for your release. Idk why it was a big deal for her to go back down if Emma and others were allowed to tbh but still.

      • Neutral

They probably already wanted to get rid of her and that was just an excuse!

        • Chargod Flair #5x

Well they told her to train and stay touring with the company at the same time.

      • Robann

That was an excuse and you know it. Her going down to NXT because SHE knew she needed to get bettter showed how passionate she was to learn the ropes more. The fact that she’s still getting checks left and right and didn’t just fade into the background like other wrestlers that were release early on says a lot.

And Emma had nothing to do with this. I don’t understand why we can’t care about multiple people getting released at the same time.

        • Chargod Flair #5x

She was told to train while still being on tour.

          • Robann

And when tf would she have done that? In between driving hours to get to the next city? Lol

          • Chargod Flair #5x

They have days off. It wouldn’t be easy but being a wwe superstar isn’t easy. I believe Lana has done it recently.

          • Robann

I still think that’s BS. Superstars have gone down to NXT to revamp their characters all o the freaking time *ahem EMMA*. Why would you “train on the road” when you have the chance to go to an ACTUAL performance center with ACTUAL trained coaches and teachers in Florida? This isn’t the early to mid 2000’s, the superstars actually have the chance to take advantage of a facility that’s specifically there to help TRAIN them to be better stars. Let’s keep it real, they didn’t like the fact that she spoke out about the messed up things they were doing and because she didn’t have “The Look”, they got rid of her. Like I said before, they dropped the ball with her. She had the charisma, the mic work and was improving in the ring immensely, and she was let go.

          • Robann

And Lana goes to the performance center every single time shes in FL.That doesn’t count.

          • Carolution

and lana is the one of the worst wrestlers in the womens division which shows why cameron decided to stay in nxt because that will help you get better.

  • ???

I know she had a long way to go but she was definitely determined to get better and WWE didn’t give her a chance yet they decided to release her instead of Eva Marie which is disappointing .. seriously I don’t understand all the unnecessary hate towards her ? Just because she said her favorite match is Alicia Fox vs Melina ?

I think she was so natural in the mic , she had the mic skills and the charisma but haters will deny her abilities no matter what .

    • Ollie Roche

This sounds awful but I think race has a lot to do with it. It’s common knowledge that vince always loved pushing pretty blondes first and foremost and women of a different ethnicity had to be extra special. Jacqueline was never pushed to her full potential and was never over and Naomi wasn’t dropped because she is a tremendous athlete. There is no way vince would let Eva Marie go over Cameron. With her saying Melina vs Alicia was her favourite match it’s no surprise. She’s proven (even in the interview) she takes ethnic women empowerment seriously so for a then casual wrestling fan to see a black woman and a Hispanic woman take to the completion it probobly inspired her. It sure was funny though when she said it.

  • YonceLuvsDivas

Cameron, Emma and Summer all have been wronged by WWE. All three of them had talent and star power. #JusticeForThemAll

    • Nun Ya
      • Emma was the only one who could really put on a good match out of those 3. But the other two definitely had charisma and mic skills and could rile up a crowd. It is a shame none of them were used to their potential

    • Darren C. #Savees

      None of them

    • jbrizzy

And I am truly happy seeing all of them thriving. They are better off without wwe, especially when a lot of people in that company today are dependent on it as a crutch

      • YonceLuvsDivas

Oh yes!! Cameron got her reality show on MTV, acting and co-host a show. Summer is killing it on the modeling scene and I believe she just landed a job as a sports anchor. Emma is booked all over the place on the indies. Hopefully she end up on impact or woh.

  • Jo9834

Not a hater by any means, but I found her pretty lackluster in the ring at times. There was a point when she was showing a lot of promise, but then she attempted a pin on Naomi on her STOMACH, and I was done.

I believe the WWE lost interest in her post her break up with Naomi, which garnered very little heat or buzz for either girl, it should have been an epic blow out of proportions due to how long they were a team, but fizzled .

One thing I do LOVE about the girl, is her sass , confidence and attitude. As a manager she could have been incredible. Putting her with the Titus brand for example OR a debuting Apollo Cruz who has been lost in the shuffle despite his incredible in ring ability.

    • Chargod Flair #5x

She claims that pin attempt was supposed to happen but idk if I believe that.

      • Jo9834

Yes I heard that as well, but I find it hard to believe.

      • it was on purpose, she turned her on the stomach just so she could do that, when she never did it before
        http://cdn0.vox-cdn.com/imported_assets/2383174/vXLEqk9.gif

        • Chargod Flair #5x

          Huh?

          • she purposely pinned her while she was on her stomach.

          • KatyaMenelli

Right, she turned her over and even told Naomi to turn over before she did it herself. It was most definitely planned.

    • that was planned!
      http://cdn0.vox-cdn.com/imported_assets/2383174/vXLEqk9.gif
she had a good variety of moves and could sell like a pro, if they gave her more polishing she could’ve been something.

      • Jo9834

I just don’t see how that benefited her at all character wise, but if it was planned, good on her as we’re still talking about it today I guess. But I agree her selling was really good, that brutal butt bump from Asuka is always on highlight packages.

        • Same, I don’t know what reaction did she expect but if the goal was to get that type of heat from IWC I guess it worked.

    • Nun Ya

Oh like many wrestlers haven’t screwed up before even John Cena has messed up for Christ sakes at one point the bellas were just as bad as Cameron and she improved faster than them. Eva Marie literally told Summer Rae she didn’t know what basic ass move to do next and wasn’t taking her training serious at all and yet wwe still chose her based off her looks. You all are so quick to toss black women to the side. Naomi for instance is gifted and you all will focus on one botched move. Hell even Trish Stratus botched. You all have to come up with better excuses for why you dislike black women compared to their white counterparts it’s disgusting. And that may not be your intention nor am I calling you a racist because even black people hate black people and it has to stop it’s a deep psychological issue taught by older generations. Our skin color is merely a barrier to protect us from burning in the sun it’s how our skin adapted in Africa. Girl Bye!

      • Jo9834

Nowhere ANYWHERE in my initial comment was it insinuated or even hinted that Cameron’s race or colour was grounds for my opinion. Naomi is one of my favourite wrestlers so no idea where that train of thought came from, and there was no comparison or talk about Trish or the Bella’s in my post to begin with either.

I am an ethnic minority myself and its comments like yours that make me cringe, please respect people and most of all yourself before coming at the world with so much misguided thought and unfounded assumption.

      • Carolution

put the race card back in the deck

        • MinervaCoretex

Girl bye! If you dont think they treat white blonde women better in WWE, then you’re either blind or stupid.

          • Jo9834

Emma and Summer Rae are both white, both blonde, both treated poorly and both simultaneously released.

Naomi held the title TWICE this year including a victory at WM.

Sasha is the only female I would agree that has been held back or mistreated, especially with her whimsical title runs and stop start pushes and association with Pamela. If she was booked half as well as Charlotte, she’d be a mega star by now.

          • Carolution

“white blonde women” considering trish isn’t 100% white, lita wasn’t blonde, ivory wasn’t blonde and they’re LEGENDARY WOMEN and even nowadays its not mostly blondes besides charlotte/alexa but really charlotte is pushed due to her name and alexa can out talk any of the other women so its not like sasha isn’t like a 4 time champ already and had hof matches/firsts so people actinh like sasha gets treated like alicia or dana ffs need to put the race card back in the deck along with their race baiting nonsense.

    • Wrestling.fan.from.France

“I really shouldn’t be shocked how WWE centric these are given how much you’ve phoned it in in recent times. You used to be a great source for female wrestling all over the world but now you’re a distant second best to squaredcirclesirens.”
      Not just at times rang.

      • Jo9834

Erm I don’t work for Diva dirt? not sure if that was a reply for me or a comment for the thread LOL.

        • Wrestling.fan.from.France

Oh I wanted to talk about Cameron lol… I didn’t even notice that I said that LOL. Since you said she was “lackluster in the ring at times” and that’s why I said “not just at times”. Sorry ?

  • willh

WWE dropped the ball on Cameron. I feel like she’s one of the biggest “What Ifs” in the Women’s division. I truly believe she could’ve been the second-coming of Melina if WWE didn’t release her. She had so much charisma and respected the business and was trying to improve. I really wish she wasn’t dropped, but I wish her the best in her endeavors.

    • KatyaMenelli

Right. Cameron reminds me so much of Melina

  • Royalty ?

Honestly she was very good in the ring and selling. She always brought something different to ring and was willing to learn and try different moves and she always pitching ideas for herself to the writers. But of course y’all bring up that one time when she wanted ref to count. She was training in NXT for 5 months and had a personal trainer. She was never BAD in the ring EVER. WWE just didn’t let her go as far as she wanted too. But she did have a few divas championship matches so I think at some extent they was rooting for her but saw that she needed more work. The whole Ryback situation seems fishy to me because there’s other superstars who speak there mind ALLL THE TIME. They just probably wanted to release her to make rooom for others or a certain someone backstage was happy she was gone so she said in the past.

  • Keeana Tayler

She really wanted to get better and was dropped once she was starting to improve, i always will wonder what her career would’ve gone like had she not been released

  • Xaos

    Queen

  • Peace ??

WWE 2k16 and Cameron isn’t is still the champion! Like everyone I’m left with a “what if” with Cameron! What show would she be on? Would she be a champion? Would she be putting on some really good matches? Like I need her back

  • TorrieTrishStacyLita

The Queen!!! Please come back and put these bitches in their place like you did Nene, Friend!!!? Next Smackdown women’s champ ? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ec6551649c7a5fb9cfc8088ca45292e66ed2c514c4956257c23ee27513e63160.gif

  • Darren C. #Savees

She needs to stay away from tv

  • We love a queen. She was wronged by WWE!

  • wysna

The fact that they kept Eva Marie over her makes me want to key someone else’s car.

  • Cameron wasn’t that great but just because WWE didn’t put the spotlight on her. She went to NXT and improved a lot, her theme is still one of my faves.

  • #ROSEARMY

Cameron was never as bad as some of the wrestling purists claimed, but I think her Tough Enough/Total Divas screen personality gave a few people the wrong impression. To be fair to her, she played a heel naturally and was very easy to get behind in that role. It’s a shame she got cut the way she did.

  • Alejandro

Cameron could’ve been great, sadly she was in a division and a company that didn’t give her a real chance. While Cameron wasn’t a great wrestler, she was good on the Mic and at a time were WWE forgot what a manager is supposed to do and that’s promote and enhance talent, when she was paired with Naomi she had no chance but to look.

  • Carolution

i liked cameron even if she wasn’t the best wrestler her mic work, character and charisma were all great so its a shame a post on twitter can get you released.

  • BLKLTR05

Everybody is acting as if the release of Cameron is on the same level as the releases of Melina and Mickie James. Sorry but the girl just wasn’t cutting it. She has the opportunity to go back out there and wrestle and show people that it was her passion and what does she do instead? Pursue acting. Brandi Rhodes, who is hella green compared to what Cameron was putting on down in NXT, went for it and look at her. Can barely do a hip toss but she’s doing the damned thing while Cameron is on a show that has lived well past its prime. Sorry girl but if your passion was wrestling, you should be doing the indie circuit.

    • Robann

Literally no one is acting like that LOL we’re acknowledging that she actually WANTED to work on her wrestling and get better, AND WAS ACTUALLY GETTING BETTER when she was released. Unless Cameron continues wrestling in the indies she’ll never be on the wrestling level as Melina or Mickie, so i dont even know why they are even being mentioned in this. We never said she was the best wrestler on the roster (although there were some that were/are worse than her), we just said she had the potential to be a good heel wrestler/manager and they dropped her.

      • BLKLTR05

From the comments, it seemed that way to me. If YOU don’t see it that way then ok but I don’t see the hype. She was just there and that’s it. She showed promise but lots of girls show promise, look at Liv Morgan and Rosa Mendez.

    • GLAMPIREQUEEN

? I get the point you’re making about Cameron but geeeez. Did you have to shade The Challenge at the expense of it LMAO? That show is still iconic and a classic and will never, ever go out of style. xD

      • BLKLTR05

IDK I loved the Challenge when it was about the challenge but now it’s just a glorified Big Brother where the drama is the actual draw instead of the challenges.

  • Danny?

Love Queen Cam! She really could have been something special & was improving leaps & bounds in the ring before her unfortunate release. She gets a lot of hate but had decent ring skills & her selling was fantastic. Plus, her character & mic work was absolutely on point and she knew how to get that across well in whatever she done. Wish she never got released and now the same thing has happened to Summer. So much wasted potential!
