Results: Asuka wins the Rumble, Ronda Rousey debuts

Tonight (Jan 28th) history was made as WWE held their first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match. The match featured a mix of Raw, SmackDown, NXT Superstars and former WWE Superstars competing for a Women’s Title shot of her choosing at WrestleMania 34.

By the end of the night, it was Asuka who claim victory and go in the record books as the first-ever winner of the Women’s Royal Rumble.

Earlier in the evening, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle announced that Alicia Fox would no longer be able to compete in the Royal Rumble match due to an injury she sustained.

As it was previously reported, Maria Menounos served as the guest ring announcer for the Rumble and introduced special guest commentary Stephanie McMahon as well the Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair were both seating at ringside throughout the Rumble match.

After Asuka won the Rumble, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss met with her in the ring. Before Asuka could make her decision on who she would face at WrestleMania, a debuting Ronda Rousey would join them in the ring. She tried to congratulate Asuka with a handshake but Asuka rejected this by slapping Ronda’s hand away. Ronda then went and shook hands with Stephanie McMahon at the announce table.

ESPN would go on to announce that Ronda Rousey has officially signed a WWE deal.
