SmackDown Discussion Post: 09.24.21

This week’s SmackDown is the last stop before Extreme Rules this Sunday. The blue brand will have two women’s matches on the card and tonight will be its final build.

First, Liv Morgan will be facing Carmella on Sunday. These two have been feuding off and on for quite a bit over the course of the past several months. This should be a big opportunity for both of them, especially Morgan, to show out on a pay-per-view event. Before we get there though, she has to go through Zelina Vega tonight.

The other match at Extreme Rules is a SmackDown Women’s Championship match as the champ Becky Lynch takes on former champ Bianca Belair. Belair lost her title to Lynch at SummerSlam in 26 seconds and she is out on a mission to get the gold back. We have already received a contract signing from the two plus Belair’s homecoming last week in her hometown. What will be the final build tonight?

We have new Women’s Tag Team Champions as of Monday’s RAW. And although the new champions of Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley are talent from RAW they can go to SmackDown whenever they would like. On SmackDown we have Shotzi and Tegan Nox who aren’t the happiest that they defeated former champions Natalya & Tamina and never received a title shot. They defeated them 3 1/2 time to be precise.

All of that is in the past now, as Shotzi & Nox took to social media to show that they have to train like Rocky in order to get ready for a title opportunity. Will we see more of this tonight?

For about a month now, Naomi has been overlooked by Sonya Deville to be put in a match. Last week, she was no longer playing games as she backed Deville into a wall and demanded to be utilized on the blue brand. Deville then in return “fined” Naomi for insubordination.

For AEW fans, we are not going to have a Rampage discussion post tonight. If you would like to discuss that show you can do so in the comments of this post while it airs. The match for tonight will be Anna Jay vs. Penelope Ford.

If you do not choose to watch Rampage following SmackDown you can check out 205 Live where Ember Moon will be facing Cora Jade.

As always, feel free to discuss tonight’s show(s) in the comment section below.
