Unwrapped: Eye Candy for the Week Ending January 9th, 2010

Welcome to this week’s edition of Unwrapped! As always, we will be grading all of the new photoshoots (or “eye candy”, as we like to call them) from the week gone by, judging them like so:

Sweet (Great)Bland (Iffy)Sour (Awful)

You, the reader, will also get the chance to grade the “eye candy” yourself by giving your opinion on each shoot and voting for your favorite out of the whole bunch. Now, dive in!

Note: What a puny week for photoshoots! I suppose 2 are better than none though, right?

Gail Kim‘s In Bloom
Grade: Sweet. For some reason, Gail seems so much more natural in this shoot than she has in the past. Her poses and expressions are great and don’t look at all forced. She’s sporting an all-black ensemble, save for a vest that reminds me of a bunch of white lilies. It brings a decidedly “romantic” touch to what otherwise would be a sleek and sexy outfit, and I like it. There’s an excitement to the look, despite the limit on color, and Gail wears it excellently. It kind of mirrors her personal image–sexy but still overwhelmingly sweet. It’s photoshoots like these that make me hate the over-the-top and “try hard” shoots we see so often–you don’t need to shove your bits and pieces into people’s faces to look sexy, and Gail proves that here.

Michelle McCool‘s Shoot to Thrill
Grade: Sweet. Earlier this week, Melanie referred to this shoot as “killer fierce”, and I agree–Michelle may not be looking like she’s going to kill you as in others’ definition of the word “fierce”, but she looks drop dead gorgeous and super confident here and that, in my book, is “fierce”. There’s a ton of layering going on here–the leather knee-high boots over the leather pants, the gray crop top over the black tank top–and it works great. It looks sleek and cool, a certain style that I think a heel like Michelle should display, instead of the hoochie-ness some heels tend to gravitate towards. It tells you that she’s tough and sexy, but is so “above it all” that she won’t expose too much of herself to the lowly public. Some might have opted to forgo the tank top underneath, but it would have broken up the look and made the look more trashy than tough. Perfect look for Michelle, paired with perfect poses and–may I say–perfect hair! Hey, it’s the trifecta!

NOTE ON TNA PHOTOSHOOTS – I tend to only cover photoshoots with a decent amount of photos. So if TNA has a new shoot with Tara, but there’s only 3 photos, I’m going to skip it. No hard feelings. But if you see any new, sizable TNA shoots feel free to drop us a tweet and let us know–it’s tough to keep track of their new stuff!
